Wear It Pink this Sunday 💗

Sunday 25th October is Wear It Pink Day at The George, and we’d like you to join us.

Breast Cancer Now is our charity this year, after our walk and cycle challenge raised more than £11,000 for them in April. Sunday is the next chapter.

Here’s what’s on:

🍽️ Sunday lunch served all day, with a few pink-inspired dishes on the menu
🚴 Our staff on the bikes and rowers from noon, raising money the hard way
❓ The Breast Cancer Now quiz at 3pm
🍸 Pink cocktails and shots at the bar
🎟️ Raffle prizes through the day
🎸 Mikey T live in the lounges, 6pm till 9pm

Wear something pink, bring some change for the buckets, and make an afternoon of it.

Happy International Chefs Day 👨‍🍳

A good day to introduce the man behind the menu. Meet Paul Dollard, our Head Chef.

Paul came to us by way of Liverpool, hotels across the Lakes, and most recently the island of Sark, which is about as far from a motorway as you can get in the British Isles.

Ask him his favourite dish on the menu and he’ll say the Scouse Pie. It’s a bit of home he brought with him, beef and lamb marinated in red w**e for 24 hours, and it’s on the menu as the Chef’s Signature Liverpool Pie. Which is handy, because it’s Pie & Pint week.

What he enjoys about cooking is simple: people, and seeing them smile at what’s put in front of them. That, and fresh seasonal produce, which runs right through his new menu.

Spare time? More cooking, and the Lakeland fells.

A look back at April 💗

Six months ago, to mark ten years of Everbright Hotels, teams from across all our hotels walked and cycled for Breast Cancer Now.

It was inspired by Fiona, a much-loved member of our team, whose positivity and strength were the reason so many of us laced up.

And we’re not done - we continue raising money across all of our hotels, with special events and contributions.
