All holiday lodges are refurbished for 2015 (external porch with heated cupboard, biomass heating system, new kitchens)
Two new lodges (Brotherswater Premier) built in 2018
Extensive revamping and upgrading to 4 of the original 12 lodges in 2021

We offer comfortable holiday or short break accommodation in an idyllic Lakeland setting. Hartsop Fold is located in a quiet location between Brothers Water and Ullswater in the heart of the Lakes. We have 14 self-catering holiday lodges set in one of the most beautiful and peaceful corners of the English Lake District - an ideal base for hill walking, mountain biking, fell running, canoeing, and exploring the local area. Come and visit us soon, and enjoy spectacular fell walks from the lodge park, and see red deer, badgers and birdlife on the fields and hillsides nearby, and find your own corner of tranquillity here in the Lakes.

You asked, we delivered 😎⛰️

The Bothy now has a hot tub (with the most amazing views) following the feedback from several guests. It is without doubt the hot tub with the best views that we have across both our parks. Imagine relaxing in here watching the wildlife and enjoying the scenery 😍⛰️

The Bothy can also be booked online and we recommend having a look as we are already getting bookings in for the popular dates 😁😁

The Bothy is primarily dog free, but we will allow up to 2 well behaved dogs at an extra cost. For more information on this please contact us ☺️🐶

Who else loves a dog friendly stay at Hartsop Fold? 🐾🐶

This is one of our popular Hart Crag Retreat lodges (Martindale). They are pretty booked up with only three dates available for the whole of June (Martindale is available 1st June for 4 nights, Lowther is available 19th June for 3 nights, and both are available for 29th June for 7 nights)

Everyone has been making the most of our discounted prices and we are booking up! There is limited availability for April and May but there are still bargains to be had. We have some great lodges available - both dog friendly and pet free. Some have hot tubs too 😁🫧

Our lodges are fully booked for Easter - but our little known Bothy is still available for the Easter weekend. It sleeps 4 (super king and king sized bed) and has gorgeous views

We’re bringing back Wainwright Wednesday where we share local walks and activities during the week! 🥾⛰️

To start us off we are recommending walking along the shore of Derwentwater. It’s a gorgeous flat walk and you can start and finish in a number of places (you can even get the boat across the lake). These photos are from the southwesterly part of the lake below Cat Bells. Thanks to for sharing these photos. They also recommend for refreshments along the way - the ice cream and coffee were lovely 🍦☕️

The accommodation we recommend are our lovely Hart Crag Retreat lodges. We modernised these are few years ago and they have been very popular. They have their own private hot tub and all the cosiness that our lodges are known for
