High House Farm is situated in Watermillock, one mile above Ullswater amongst the fells, an idyllic situation surrounded by open fields and with lovely views from the grounds. No longer a working farm, three of the traditional stone buildings have been converted into superb holiday cottages for couples. Each cottage is private, not overlooking the other and with an outdoor seating area. All provide ground floor accommodation, oozing quality and character with original features in the structure, beautiful furnishings and excellent en suite facilities. Attention to detail ensures ultimate comfort for guests. Situated in ten acres of land and and with walks from the doorstep including Aira Force. High House Farm cottages are perfect for a romantic get away or an activity holiday, with parking and storage for bikes, canoes, sailing dinghies etc. Only a 20 minute drive from the M6 makes High House Farm accessible for short breaks or full week holidays. The peaceful location of these properties will make you want to return time and again.

Blue skies and sunshine on our walk this morning up to the top of Gowbarrow Fell.

You can join the Ullswater Way and walk up Gowbarrow straight from High House. If you want to go a bit further, it’s another mile and a half to Aira Force waterfalls.

Such a beautiful day to be outside in the fells. Hopefully more days like this this autumn 🍂
