We’re excited to feature in Channel 5’s new programme, Britain’s Best Service Station, after presenter JB Gill spent a spring day with us last year.

From joining Alisha on our Bakery counter to make a Victoria sponge, to spending time with our Butchery team at Tebay South, JB spent the day seeing the skills that shape the food we make and the people who make it possible.

JB also joined our Farm Manager, Sion, during lambing to learn more about where our story began - and the role the farm still plays in the business today.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part and can’t wait to watch it with you.

We’re back with wildlife guru, John, and today we’ve got a special guest - Garry the Squirrel Ranger. 🐿️

For over 20 years, we’ve worked alongside Garry and the team at Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group, helping to support red squirrel populations in our area.

It’s always a joy to spot them around Tebay, and we’re incredibly grateful for the work Garry and the team continue to do.

If you’ve spotted a red squirrel on your visits to Tebay, or our Hotel we’d love to see your photos in the comments below. 🌲

What an incredible day 🧡

Last Thursday, 180 colleagues, producers, and partners came together for our inaugural Miles for Minds sponsored walk, completing an amazing 23 mile journey from Tebay Services to Rheged in support of Growing Well.

Growing Well provides structured, clinically led mental health support through purposeful horticultural activity in a real working environment. Located 200 metres from Tebay Services North, 100 Cumbrians join the annual programme each year, which has a 68% success rate for full recovery. We are proud to work closely with Growing Well, and the vegetables grown on site are sold in our Farmshops and used in our cafe kitchens.

A huge thank you to our brilliant sponsors who funded the event, the food producers who supported the pit stops, and the volunteers who kept our walkers going with snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity and support, we have raised £37,000 to help this fantastic charity continue its vital work.

We asked our customers if this Westmorland pie is a snack or a meal. 🥧 Here’s what they had to say…

What’s your verdict? 🎤

As we share this, our Miles for Minds walkers are already out on the route, taking on 21 miles from Tebay to Rheged in support of Growing Well Well (Tebay). Every step today helps raise the all‑important funds that will support their vital mental health programmes in our community. 🌱

Today we’d also like to shine a spotlight on our sponsor, Kelsius. Known for their digital food safety and temperature‑monitoring systems, they help our businesses stay safe and compliant behind the scenes - and we’re pleased to have them backing the walk.

To everyone out on the miles today in the Cumbrian weather - keep going, you’re doing brilliantly. 🥾

As we approach our Miles for Minds walk tomorrow, fundraising for the brilliant charity Growing Well (Tebay), we'd like to share thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers.

We'd like to shine a spotlight on our sponsor, Diverse Fine Food Co. As champions of independent and artisan food producers, we’re pleased to have some of their team walking with us tomorrow.

To everyone taking part – good luck for the miles ahead tomorrow!

This Thursday, during Mental Health Awareness Week, our colleagues, producers and wider community will be coming together for our Miles for Minds walk, taking on 21 miles from Tebay Services to Rheged.

We’ll be walking to raise funds for Growing Well, a local charity based here at Tebay Services, supporting mental health and wellbeing through horticultural activities.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Evolt Charging, our sponsor, who will be joining us on the walk and volunteering on the day too. Evolt Charging also supports our EV charging offer here at Tebay Services, helping us to power cleaner journeys. 🔋

We're looking forward to sharing more from the Miles for Minds walk as the week goes on!

From Cumbria to Britain’s oldest tannery in Devon.

Sheepskins from our farm and other Cumbrian farms, each carrying its own character. Salted and prepared by us before travelling to Devon, where they are crafted into rugs and pouffes in partnership with Devonia, Britain’s oldest tannery.

Now finished with one of our hand-stamped bags, marked with “Founded on our Cumbrian farm in 1972” exclusive to our Farmshops.

If you’ve taken one home, we’d love to see a photo of it in your space 📸

Fifty acres of our farmland brought back to healthy peatland. Wildlife returning. And a black grouse that absolutely made John’s day.

This Earth Day, John and Sion share how caring for the peatlands on our Farm helps protect the landscape we all travel through - and the one we’re proud to call home.
