The front door leads you into a generous hallway which is handy for when removing walking boots and coats. From here you can access the generous shower room, sunny double bedroom and the comfortable and airy open-plan living area. There is a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and lounge area complete with flat-screen tv and wi-fi. Fully glazed doors look out onto the grounds of the main house with grazing pastures and the fells beyond. Outside this delightful cottage there is a small seating area where you can relax with a refreshing drink, after a day spent walking in the beautiful local countryside. The surrounding area provides an array of interesting walks, excellent cycling and good touring opportunities. The market town of Penrith has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a swimming pool, museum and cinema. A short drive away are Keswick, Cockermouth, the historic city of Carlisle and the magnificent lakes of Ullswater and Haweswater and Derwentwater.
5 miles away is historic Hutton-in-the-Forest, a magnificent estate dating back to before the 15th century. As well as the house and its beautiful gardens and woodland walk to explore, there is the perfect chance to enjoy delicious lunches and afternoon teas in its Cloisters Tea Room. Throughout the year the estate stages many outdoor events, including Potfest, open-air Shakespeare and Horse Trials.
