It's been some week here with a big local wildfire and the eclipse on the same day! We have been trying to take a week off, but that never really happens 🙈🤣
Here's a few pictures from this week.

When we started Lebanon Cottage back in 2006, the kitchen and dining room were two separate rooms. We knew that needed to change.

We knocked the wall through a while ago now, and it completely changed the place. And we are very proud about what we created. It’s one big open space with everything you need to cook properly and plenty of workspace and cupboards. There is a table for eating a home cooked meal or a takeaway, and a dishwasher meaning no-one gets stuck clearing up after dinner.

Guests are often surprised how well equipped it is for a holiday cottage kitchen, more like cooking at home than making do on holiday.

St Just and West Cornwall is genuinely dog friendly.

Dogs are welcome in local pubs and cafés. Water bowls appear without asking. No one makes a fuss.

It makes a holiday easier. You don’t have to plan around restrictions or feel like you’re bending rules.

Add in the coast path, Cape Cornwall, Botallack, Sennen, and all the walking on the doorstep, and it’s a very easy place to holiday with a dog.

And if you don't want to take your dog with you for a visit to the pub, if you have a chat first, we are happy to have dogs left in the cottage.

Beds! Not the most exciting post in the world, but one that matters more that you might think.

Lebanon Cottage sleeps five, but how that works for you can be flexible depending on your family.

The twin room has the benefit of either being two beds, or put together as one large superking. That means we can set up for couples or families.

Just tell us before you arrive and we'll have it ready either way.

When your dog gets to the paddock, what do you think they'll do first?

We've had some dogs who drag their people there before they've even got the keys, because they remember it. Some make straight for the long grass, noses down, working through every smell like there's a story in it. Others just want to run round the cut area, playing.

Either way, most dogs figure out pretty quickly that it's theirs for the week.

Lebanon Cottage sits behind the church in St Just, close enough to the town that it’s just a short stroll to shops, pubs and cafés. You can see it on the second picture just behind the trees, and the town is immediately to the right of the church.

For anyone who likes a glass of wine with dinner, or just doesn't want the faff of driving to get a pint of milk, that matters more than it sounds.

There's a particular kind of week that suits a late booking.
The kind where you haven't planned much beyond a beach walk and a decent pub.
Where the dog gets three walks a day instead of one rushed one.
Where the garden's there for a coffee in the morning and a glass of something in the evening.
Where St Just and all it has to offer is a very short walk away, not a drive.
We've got a few of those weeks still open in July.
