What a January this has been. With 3 named storms all hitting west Cornwall hard, weather warnings, huge amounts of rain and wind.
Storm Goretti hit us hardest with gusts of 98mph recorded close by. Here at Bos Verbas we lost power and water for the best part of four days, plus sadly one of our big trees and many branches. Roads were blocked and chain saws could be heard constantly for days. Next Came Ingrid, and then Chandra. Our weather station had no power so no readings for Goretti, but we recorded gusts of 73mph and sustained winds of 60mph durring Chandra. The waves combined with high tides have been huge, the few sunny days have made for dramatic beach walks and we had amazing views of the Northern lights. We are still clearing up here in the mud, the tree surgeon is booked for March, and I'm trying to prune our 150 hydrangeas in the dry spells. Let's hope February is an improvement, but sadly as I write we are entering another 27 hour weather warning for rain and its pretty breezy.
Here is a selection of photos from January. Mostly mine and a few borrowed. Hoping all our followers are keeping safe and the weather improves for all of us.
Our pitches for this year are filling up fast, so don't delay booking if you are wanting to come.
