Anchor Barrow through the years has enabled us to meet some truly remarkable people, and this reel is testament to one of them. Someone you would be hard-pushed to find anyone on this earth who has a bad word to say about…

Although, to be fair, he is a Man U supporter. 🔴👎😂

Who would have thought that six years ago, when we first FaceTimed James, he would become *Jambon* — and such a much-loved part of the Anchor Barrow family.

A dear friend to everyone, Jambon is kind, hardworking, generous, good fun and simply a delightful individual to know and have around.

For as long as we’ve been lucky enough to know him, his dream has always been to travel. Tomorrow, after a fantastic summer working his little Crocs off to fill his pot for his adventures, he leaves AB to finally make that dream a reality.

We are incredibly excited for him and everything that lies ahead, but selfishly, we’re also going to be very sad not to have him around for the next few years.

Whether he’s been at AB as a member of staff or simply popping down for a camping trip, we don’t think there’s been a camping season where we haven’t seen him at least once. That’s just Jambon — somehow always part of the fabric of Anchor Barrow.

Tonight, we’ll send him off in the best way the AB team knows how: steak, beer and the very best wishes in the world for the adventures that await.

It’s been an absolute pleasure, Jambon. Thank you for all the laughs, hard work, friendship and memories.

Go explore, have the adventure you’ve always dreamed of, and make some incredible memories along the way.

We will sadly be closing our gates for this season next Sunday Morning.

However, if you are the proud owner of a VW you are most welcome to join us and camp at our first VW Event.

If you are not a VW owner but are a Van enthusiast you are most welcome to come and have a look around on the Sunday and help us with the judging. On the gate Sunday visitors to pay £5 entry.

Where did the 2026 season go?

This weeks line up and menus-

Some delicious menus and some fabulous musicians to see us through this August Bank Holiday!

Food 6-8pm
Music 6:30-8:30pm (Sat- 7-9pm)

To help us better gauge numbers and reduce waste please let us know via the link in Bio if you plan to join us for any of the feast nights.

NOT PERMITTED AT ANCHOR BARROW

We are receiving a lot of enquiries about the use of fire pits etc at Anchor Barrow. The advice has not changed.

We are aware of the minimal rain that Cornwall has received but this is not enough to reverse the dry spell and conditions of the hedges/ grass.

We are in regular communication with the local Fire Control. Update from this morning is that the use of them is still not permitted.

I do understand the frustration and that this is such a lovely part of camping. However, the safety of our campers and support to our local fire service out ways that. Hands down. Easy decision.

Be kind. Follow the Rules.

Save your marshmallows for another time or make some rocky roads :)
