A little look back to 2022… and how things look today.

Since then, there have been new windows, careful repointing, repairs to the frontage, doorway and frame — and countless small details quietly brought back to life along the way.

It’s been a lot of work, but it has always felt important to care for this little piece of living history properly. Houses like these survive because generation after generation chooses to look after them.

Nearly 200 years on, this terrace is still very much alive — still welcoming people through its door, still part of the story of Burgate, and still standing proudly in the heart of Pickering. ❤️

We couldn’t be happier with the result of the bathroom redecorating. The shower was ready for a good spruce up around its sealant, and the white walls were starting to feel cold to me. So we decided to be brave, and be bold - making a statement wall behind the clawfoot bath, and bringing a touch of colour to the skirting boards, with a warmer paint for ceiling and walls. A quick darkening of the traditional doors, and the bathroom feels completely different. Enjoy! 😉 💕 🛁
