The Tartan Army are gathering as the FIFA World Cup gets under way. It’s been 28 years since Scotland last graced football’s biggest stage, making it all the more fitting that Finn Thomson selected a remarkable 28-year-old Glen Garioch for his Tartan Army single cask bottling.

Distilled in 1998 and drawn from Bourbon Barrel #652, this limited release offers a gentle wisp of smoke alongside layers of smoked nuts, cured meats and rich brown butter, all wrapped in the wonderfully oily texture that only time can create. With just 134 bottles released, it’s a fitting dram to mark Scotland’s long-awaited return to the world stage and a perfect dram for our in house whisky collection, available in the whisky lounge!

Here’s to the journey, the memories, and the unwavering spirit of the Tartan Army. Slàinte. 🥃🏴⚽️

One of the loveliest views in the house isn’t from a grand drawing room or formal terrace, but from the bath in the Governess Room.

Framed by climbing greenery and the timeless symmetry of Georgian architecture, the window looks out across the side lawn to a magnificent copper beech tree, its rich foliage creating a scene that feels wonderfully secluded and almost secret.

A long soak, the rustle of leaves, and a view that changes with every season. Sometimes luxury is simply having the time to pause and enjoy it.

This morning we bid farewell to a wonderful group of guests from Taiwan as they continued their Scottish journey.

We were delighted to be part of their Highland experience and hope they leave with fond memories of the Cairngorms, warm Scottish hospitality and the unique charm of The Old Manse of Blair.

The departure also marked another successful coach visit following recent improvements to our access and arrival facilities, helping ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for both guests and drivers alike.

A sincere thank you to the drivers and tour team whose professionalism, patience and attention to detail make group travel run so seamlessly. Their hard work behind the scenes is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

To our guests from Taiwan, thank you for visiting us. We wish you safe onward travels and hope to welcome you back to Scotland again in the future.

Not every road trip stop needs to be an overnight stay. Sometimes all you need is a great drive, safe parking, exceptional food, and a setting worth lingering in.

Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, The Old Manse of Blair provides the perfect pause on a Highland adventure. Surrounded by glorious architecture, beautiful gardens, and some of Scotland’s most spectacular driving roads, it’s an ideal destination for lunch before continuing your journey through the Highlands.

After winding her way around the NC500 with her grown ups, Vivien settled straight into the whisky lounge as though she’d been coming here for years. 🐾🥃🔥

Fires glowing, tails wagging, and the team completely in love with her from the moment she arrived.

Pooches welcome in our whisky lounge, cosy corners waiting, and a warm Cairngorms welcome at the end of the road. We have a selection of dog friendly room options including our absolute favourite The Georgian Suite in the main mansion house, perfectly situated next to the whisky’s lounge on the ground floor. Vivien definitely approved !
