A9 June 15th 2026 to December 31st of December 2026
Please be aware if coming from the south that there are major road works on the A9 and the slip road in to Pitlochry will be closed from 15th June until December 31st.
Two years ago a severe Winter storm and resulting full spate on the river ripped away the river banking next to the slip route into town from the A9 Northbound. This whole stretch is now to have major engineering work to reinforce the embankment, which will result in complete closure whilst this huge project is undertaken.
This will not affect southbound traffic in any way, however north bound traffic must enter Pitlochry by driving past the town and taking the A924 exit into the north of the town. This will bring you safely into the town and is the safest and advisory route for all traffic.
Please do not be tempted to use the East Haugh or Fonab turn offs, traffic flow is too fast and dangerous on the A9 and it is imperative and recommended you use the slip road.
🚧 While the road may be closed, Pitlochry isn't! 🚧
Our businesses, cafés, shops, attractions, and accommodation providers are all open and ready to welcome visitors. See you soon!
