💙 Can you help us keep Plymouth PIE Club going? 💙

What started during lockdown as an emergency response has grown into something so much bigger.

Every Wednesday and Sunday, we deliver hot, nutritious meals to older and vulnerable people across Plymouth. But we don’t just deliver food—we deliver reassurance, friendship and a reminder that somebody cares.

For many of the people we support, our volunteer on the doorstep or a friendly phone call may be the only meaningful contact they have that day.

We’re passionate about keeping our service affordable and accessible, but we can’t do it without the support of our community.

That’s why we’ve launched our crowdfunding campaign.

Every pound you donate helps us provide meals, cover delivery costs, purchase ingredients and continue supporting those who need us most.

❤️ If you’ve ever wondered how you could make a real difference to someone’s day, this is it.

Please consider donating if you’re able, and if you can’t donate, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can.

Together, we can ensure that no one in our community feels forgotten.

Thank you for supporting Plymouth PIE Club. Every donation, every share and every kind word helps us continue changing lives—one meal, one conversation and one doorstep at a time. 💙

Since 2020 Plymouth PIE Club has fed the most vulnerable in the city and we want to continue to do that with your help!!!

To all of our customers and friends please ensure you are taking extra care during this hot weather.

How can I stay cool when I'm at home?

Keep blinds or curtains closed during the day, especially on sun-facing windows, to block out heat.
Open windows on opposite sides of the home during cooler times (early morning or late evening) to create cross-ventilation.
Drink plenty of water to avoid getting dehydrated and keep eating even if you’re not feeling too hungry. It can be best to avoid alcohol.
A damp cloth or a splash of water on the back of your neck can be better at cooling you down than a fan.
Limit the use of ovens and stoves during the hottest parts of the day to reduce indoor heat.
Most medication should be kept below 25°C – so it can be best to keep it in the fridge when it's really hot.

Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, wind, snow, ice, fog, thunderstorm, lightning and extreme heat.

Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver Needed (Plympton / Plymstock)

We are looking for an extremely reliable volunteer who we can count on every Wednesday and Sunday for a few hours to help deliver meals in the Plympton and Plymstock area.

Meals are collected from our HQ in Devonport and delivered to approximately 10 homes across the PL7 and PL9 areas.

We are a small Community Interest Company, so this is a volunteer role; however, we do offer a weekly contribution towards fuel costs.

Our drivers do not collect money, but we do expect them to be respectful, friendly, conversational and caring, as many of our clients are vulnerable and really value a familiar, kind face at the door.

Volunteers will need to use their own vehicle and hold a full, valid driving licence.

Due to the nature of this role and the people we support, volunteers will be required to source their own Enhanced DBS check prior to starting. Please note that the cost of the DBS check is not reimbursed.

If you are dependable, compassionate, and enjoy helping your local community, we would love to hear from you.
