“Number One” is now closed. The building is under new ownership and will not be operating as a Bed and Breakfast going forwards.

Thank you to all our guests, especially those of you that have returned time and again. Getting to know our returning guests has been one of the great pleasures that we (Paul & Erica) have taken from running Number One over the last 10 years and Erica’s parents for most of the last 4 decades!

If you would like recommendations on alternative accommodation nearby drop us an email at [email protected] but please do note that we will not be monitoring this email on a daily basis.

Until you can see the city in person, here's a little reminder

Although you can’t visit us at the moment, you can experience the city on screen this weekend as Plymouth takes centre stage in this week’s episode of Britain’s Most Historic Towns.

The show stars historian Professor Alice Roberts and will explore Elizabethan Plymouth, following the story of England's 'Golden Age' from Sir Francis Drake to the Spanish Armada, piracy, theft and local connections to the slave trade.

Look out for major local landmarks including The Box Plymouth, the Elizabethan House, Plymouth Hoe and Buckland Abbey - National Trust.

You can watch the programme on Saturday 28 November at 7pm on Channel 4. And don’t worry if you miss it, as it’ll be available to catch up on All 4.
