We’re pleased to let you know that our big, friendly llama bear, Ozzy, is now officially joining our regular Alpaca & Llama Walks! 🦙 He's settled in SO well and has quickly become part of the herd. He’s absolutely loving getting out and exploring the woods with everyone (we suspect the abundance of blackberries might have something to do with his enthusiasm!)😂 If you want to meet the Ozzy bear, just remember to choose the llama ticket when you book your walk!

There’s something a little bit magical about evenings at The Darling Woods. 🌙

As the sun goes down, the fairy lights come on, the alpacas settle down for the evening and if you’re lucky, you’ll hear the owls calling from the surrounding woodland. 🦉 Light the fire, pour a glass of something lovely, sink into your private wood-fired hot tub and watch the last of the daylight disappear. 🥂🔥

Ozzy had a great time rolling through the bushes, so a brush was definitely in order. Halfway through, Walter wandered over humming away as if to say, "Excuse me... what about me?"

We don't usually brush our alpacas. Their fleece naturally sheds dirt as they move around, and excessive brushing can actually damage the fibre, so we tend to leave it alone unless there's a good reason. But when Walter politely asks for a pamper session... who are we to say no?! 🥹

We're especially impressed with Ozzy. He's perfectly happy to stand and be brushed all over - even his legs, which usually takes a lot of patience and training with llamas! He's taken everything in his stride since arriving, and we really do feel like we've struck gold with this gentle giant. ❤️

We all got a bit sidetracked at work today! Tilly and Milo were supposed to be unloading a log delivery... instead they gained a fluffy little distraction! Every time they carefully placed the fledgling somewhere safe, it would hop, flutter and fly straight back to them. 🥹

After a bit of research (and some waiting), we tucked it into a sheltered spot nearby where it continued calling loudly for Mum and Dad. That's exactly what fledglings are meant to do while their parents keep feeding them as they learn to fly.

Unfortunately, the logs took a little longer to unload today! 😂

🌼Summer highlight 🌼 This year is our first year growing our own cut flowers and they're bringing us so much joy! ❤️ There's something so lovely about wandering into the flower garden and picking a fresh bunch to brighten up the huts.
We can't wait to grow even more next year!

Ozzy is still getting to know everyone... including the ladies.

The female alpacas are safely in their own paddock, but that doesn't seem to have stopped them developing a bit of a crush on him! Every time Ozzy strolls past, it's all long stares, fluttering eyelashes and trying to catch his attention! Sorry girls... llama and alpaca romances aren't on the cards! 😂
