After such a busy weekend, the campsite is looking calm & quiet again🌿✨

It was absolutely buzzing over the weekend, such a lovely atmosphere, but somehow peaceful. It’s lovely we get so many repeat visitors, especially on a BH weekend!

And, as predicted, a lot of the rain missed us! ☔️ We did eventually have a little rain, but it didn’t stop our campers enjoying themselves… and we even had some very competitive campers taking part in the great British ‘breakfast-off’! 🍳🥓😂

Here’s to a gorgeous autumn 🍂

We’re looking forward to welcoming campers for the last Bank Holiday weekend of the season - how did that happen?! 😳

The forecast isn’t looking quite as settled as we’d hoped, but as many if you know, we often have our own little microclimate here, sheltered by the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. 🌾🌳🪾

If the weather is a little unpredictable, there is still plenty to enjoy. Our market town of Pocklington is just a 15-minute stroll away, with plenty to see, do, eat and drink.

So Friday evening:

🍺The bar opens at 6pm
🍴 Food served 6pm–8pm

On the menu:
🍔 6oz burgers
🧀 Loaded nachos, with chilli or pulled pork
🌱 Vegan curry with pita

So come along, settle in, grab a drink and make the most of the final Bank Holiday weekend of the season

🎉Seems a bit early to me BUT we’ve had a few enquiries asking if we’re hosting New Years Eve bash - so here it is🎉

🍾 NEW YEAR ON THE CAMPSITE 2026

Join us for a fun-filled night with:

🎶 80’s Music Quiz
🍀 Irish Bingo
🍽️ Party Food at 8.30pm
🍻 Bar open from 6pm, closes 10pm

Tickets are limited, as held in the cafe (the barn is too chilly) so book early if you are thinking of coming.

🌞 🌚 THIS TIME TOMORROW… LOOK UP! 🌚🌞

This time tomorrow the Moon will be passing in front of the Sun, creating a spectacular solar eclipse 🌙🌒

If the weather plays ball we’ll experience a change in the light - a partial eclipse, with most of the Sun covered by the Moon.

And we’re lucky enough to have some truly stunning sunsets in the far corner of the field. 🌅

Where will you sit?

🍎 Apples & Plums are Ready! 🍑

Our apples and plums seem to have decided to make an early appearance this year!

If you a enjoy bit of jamming or chutney making, please feel free to help yourself. You may need your caravan/motorhome step.

Happy picking!

🐘 The elephant in the room…

We’ve been chatting about whether to post this, but I think it’s important so …

Firstly, thank you to everyone who joined us for our Charity Music Festival and our Hoedown. The feedback has been incredible, and we’re grateful that so many of you chose to spend the weekend with us.

One thing that has been mentioned by a number of campers is that quite a few people brought their own alcoholic drinks to enjoy during the evening entertainment, despite us having a fully licensed bar with a wide range of reasonably priced drinks available.

We’re not looking to criticise anyone, but we’d like to explain why it matters.

These events take months of planning, a huge amount of hard, and effort as well as significant costs, insurances and licences.

We completely understand people enjoying a drink at their caravan or motorhome, but during organised events, supporting the bar really does help support the event itself.

We’re interested to know what you think. Is it reasonable to ask campers attending our organised entertainment to use the bar during the event? And if so, how to we prevent this happening? We’re a small business who, are often quite stretched manpower wise, and we probably wouldn’t have noticed the amount - until clearing up - had other people not told us.

Thank you
Jo & Colin
