They bring people together and bring life to our cities, towns and villages, but they're under huge pressure from rising costs.

In the UK, you pay one of the highest VAT rates in Europe. 20% extra in VAT for your pint, meal out or stay away. In France, Spain and Italy, it's 10%. In Germany? 7%.

Our message to Government is simple. Let's stand together to say VAT at 10% is fair for hospitality.

The best part of my job is meeting wonderful people across the world. These lovely guests reside in France but have been travelling across Europe on these beautiful Vespa’s. Safe travels from Penryn House.

Celebrating 20years strong, happy anniversary Chris Butter. We had a lovely evening & day celebrating in Polperro at the wonderful Priscilla’s Restaurant Polperro, visiting The Good Life Polperro for delicious wine & exploring the Polperro Heritage Museum discovering photos of Penryn House Hotel, Polperro, Cornwall in the 17th Century.

Hello from The Butter Family!

We’re so excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Penryn House Hotel here in beautiful Polperro. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming guests for our very first season in this magical seaside village.

Penryn House will continue as a family-run B&B, with Chris and Sam at the helm, along with our children Charlie, Tom & Max — and of course our four-legged team members, Pixel & Roxie 🐾

Since the New Year, we’ve loved hosting family and friends, and we were delighted to recently welcome our very first walkers of the season!

Polperro truly is a special place, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Come and experience Chris’s delicious breakfasts and a cosy, warm stay at Penryn House Hotel.
