Wentbridge was home to Babs, and if she could, we know she’d still be working alongside us today. She is the epitome of great hospitality - warm, genuine, full of personality, and very much loved by us all.

We’re now looking for experienced Front of House team members and a Casual Hotel Night Porter to join our independent, 4 Silver Star, 2 AA Rosette hotel.

As a brand-new series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids begins tonight, there couldn’t be a better time to book your place for our special lunch with the Yorkshire Shepherdess.

Join us on Thursday 15th October for a lovely autumn afternoon with Amanda, hearing stories of life on the farm, family and the Yorkshire Dales, as well as her beautiful new children’s book, Cosy Bedtime Stories from the Farm.

Carols by Candlelight 🎼 ✨️🎄

We’re thrilled to be adding a very special new event to our Christmas calendar this year on Tuesday, 15th December.

For more than 60 years, Featherstone Male Voice Choir has been part of Christmas for so many families across our local area, and this year we’re delighted to be welcoming them to Wentbridge House.

Join us for a beautiful candlelit evening of festive favourites, traditional carols, and much-loved songs, surrounded by twinkling trees and all the magic of Christmas at Wentbridge.

Mulled w**e or a non-alcoholic alternative and festive nibbles will be served on arrival, with coffee and mince pies during the interval.

Guests will be seated together around large round tables, keeping the evening relaxed and informal - one to enjoy with friends and family.

6.30pm arrival for a 7pm start.

£19.95 per person.

A little look ahead to October at Wentbridge House. 🥂

The leaves are beginning to turn, the fires will soon be lit, and there are some lovely reasons to visit us this October.

Our new Prix Fixe Menu will be served throughout the month, alongside our Autumn Afternoon Tea, filled with the flavours of the season.

On Thursday 15th October, we’ll be welcoming Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess, to Wentbridge for a very special lunch, sharing stories from life on the farm.

And on Friday 30th October, our Friday Night Grill returns for another relaxed evening at Wentbridge.with live music.

Today has been a lovely reminder of what really matters.

We all know people who are going through difficult times, living with cancer or facing the unimaginable loss of someone they love.

And then you have days like today. A room full of people giving their time, being incredibly generous and simply doing something kind for someone else...that’s the bit we want to hold on to.

Life is precious, and there’s something wonderful about people choosing to lift each other up, celebrate the good and make someone else’s day that little bit brighter.

Together, we raised an incredible £1,280 for Macmillan Cancer Support, including £595 from Isobel’s raffle, which she organised herself. She’s incredibly proud - and so are we.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Your kindness and generosity have meant a great deal.

Tomorrow morning we’ll be opening the doors for our Macmillan Coffee Morning at Wentbridge House.

Hospitality has always been about people. The team working hard behind the scenes, the guests who return time and again, and the wonderful support and kindness we receive from our local community.

Tomorrow is about exactly that - coming together over coffee and cake, enjoying a couple of hours at Wentbridge and, most importantly, raising as much as we can for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our raffle has once again been driven by one of our youngest unofficial team members, Isobel. This is her fifth year of organising charity raffles and, with lots of generous support along the way, she has helped raise more than £4,000 for Macmillan and Leeds Hospitals Charity. We’re very proud of her.

Our Proper Yorkshire Afternoon Tea has had a little refresh, and it’s looking rather delicious.

Yorkshire pudding with slow-braised beef, local pork pie, sausage roll, smoked mackerel pâté, Yorkshire cheeses, a warm savoury cheese scone with house pickles and chutneys, plus parmesan truffle fries.

All served with your choice of loose leaf tea or coffee.

A deliciously savoury alternative to our traditional afternoon tea and unmistakably Wentbridge.
