Wow amazing. Llandegfedd Lake is within 10 minutes down hill walking distance of Blackthorn Meadow.

The Carpenters Arms is within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance - depending on how fast you want to walk - from Blackthorn Meadow so our guests don’t need to drive or order a taxi to get there unless they want to.

It’s a great place to eat at or to relax in after a day of exploring the area or further afield but don’t take our word for it just read Ben’s review below.

Llandegfedd Lake is within walking distance from Blackthorn Meadow and Santa has just announced when he will be there on the run up to Christmas. He will be checking his list and meeting young ones in his Grotto. 🧑🏻‍🎄

Santa is trading the North Pole for South Wales as he sets up his grotto at Llandegfedd Lake this winter! 🎅

Annual Windsurfing Festival at Llandegfedd Lake (within walking distance from Blackthorn Meadow).

The Student Windsurfing Association returns to Llandegfedd on 24 & 25 October for its annual windsurfing festival. It's always a great weekend but it does mean we'll be running a more limited programme of our usual activities. Please be aware and book ahead if you can.

This is our most recent Vrbo review for Hawthorn Lodge. We have availability starting from 28th August.

‘We had a wonderful stay at this charming little house, complete with a relaxing whirlpool bath and sauna. Right outside is a large communal play area, offering a fantastic variety of sports equipment and toys for all ages.Inside, the house was spotless and thoughtfully laid out. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the lounge was cosy and comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day out.The bedrooms were clean and inviting, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was spacious, with a powerful shower that was a real treat.The location was excellent — just a few minutes from the nearest town, and within walking distance of the lake and watersports centre’.

Wow this is amazing!! Don’t forget that Blackthorn Meadow’s 2 holiday let bungalows are less than a 10 minute downhill walk to Llandegfedd Lake ❤️

The fruit trees in the little orchard - soon to become our ‘mindfulness’ garden - at Blackthorn Meadow have really done us proud this year.

The cherry trees produced a bumper crop of cherries but now it is the turn of our other fruit trees which includes 3 varieties of apples, 2 varieties of plums, and 2 conference pear trees.

The orchard is also home to our free-range Pekin Bantams. They love scratching around in the orchard as nature intended but their favourite time of the year is late summer to autumn when the windfall fruit lands on the ground. Nothing tastes nicer than fresh pesticide free fruit straight from the tree.
