The ever-popular Porlock Santa Festival has started! The standard of entries this year has been exceptional, with 20 Santas of all shapes and sizes, in a variety of festive, creative and comic poses, adorning the length of Porlock High Street.
The overall winner, and recipient of the Porlock Newsletter Best Santa cup, is ‘Santa School: Sports Day’ by Myrtle Cottage B&B. Second place went to ‘Sat Nav Malfunction’ by The Cottage B&B and third place went to ‘Carnival Santa’ by The Bagatelle. Many congratulations to them and all the other winners in various categories.
The festival continues to the end of December and so come along and have a look at all the wonderful displays. A free Santa Trail is available at Porlock Information Centre, The Exmoor Rambler, Porlock Home & Hardware and Porlock Pharmacy, and so pick one up, follow the trail and choose your favourites. And be sure to tell your friends and family so that they can enjoy the fun as well!

It’s not long now until the ever-popular Porlock Santa Festival is here! Starting on Thursday 11th December and continuing to the end of the month, bring your friends and family along to see the host of Santas, of all shapes and sizes in a variety of comic and festive poses, adorn the length of Porlock High Street. A Santa Trail will be available to pick up from various places along the High Street so that you can visit them all and choose your favourites. Independent judges will decide which Santas have won in various categories, including Most Festive Santa, Best Comic Santa and the Best Santa of the Festival. The winners will be announced on Saturday 13th December to coincide with Porlock Late Night Shopping. So come along and enjoy the spectacle!

It’s been a full on week of walkers flowing through the B&B doors! Brave souls with some of the this weather we’ve been having but nothing stops a hardy South West Coast Path walker, especially not a spot of mud!

Many thanks and congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's Porlock Santa Festival! Thanks to the judges as well who judged the entries yesterday. The overall winner was 'First Day On Site' by The Cottage B&B (yay!), second place went to the Top Ship with 'The Three Kings Tavern' and third place went to Central Garage with 'Retirement Overdue.' Attached is a selection of some of the Santas on display.
If you haven't already seen them, do come and enjoy the Santa spectacle along Porlock High Street. Santa Trails are available for free from several premises and so pick one up and choose your own favourites.
