Peat & Diesel may have left the island, but there’s still a hoolie going on at Glenegedale! 🌬️👕

If you were planning on getting your washing dry on the line today, you might find it somewhere over Jura by teatime! The sheets are dancing, the towels are airborne, and the pegs are earning their keep.

Just another day on Islay, where the scenery is stunning and the weather likes to keep us on our toes. As the locals say, it’s “blowing a hoolie” – a classic Scottish expression for a very strong wind.

Stay cosy, hold onto your hats, and if you see a rogue pillowcase heading down the drive, it probably belongs to us! 😄

What a truly special evening at Glenegedale House last night ✨

There’s something magical about hearing the room filled with chatter and laughter as strangers become friends over good food, fine wines, stunning Islay malts and a shared love for this beautiful island.

From locally sourced produce to hand-foraged flavours, every dish told a story of Islay, and seeing everyone come together to enjoy it made all the hard work worthwhile.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful guests for supporting our Supper Club and to our incredible local suppliers who help us showcase the very best of what Islay has to offer. We couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to great food, great company and many more memorable evenings around the table 🥂

Gathered from the hedgerows, gardens and shoreline of Islay… tonight’s supper club at Glenegedale House celebrates the incredible produce right on our doorstep.

From hand-foraged nettles for our soup to wild garlic gathered fresh for homemade butter, every little detail connects our guests to the landscape around us. There’s something very special about cooking with ingredients picked only hours before they reach the table 🌿

Simple, seasonal and full of flavour — just the way we love it.

Sunshine, smiles, drams and the unmistakable atmosphere of Feis Ìle 🥃☀️

What a fantastic day enjoying Lagavulin Feis Day with friends old and new on Islay’s beautiful shores. The island is buzzing with music, laughter and whisky lovers from all over the world — and the weather has certainly turned it on for everyone this year.

Days like these remind us what makes Feis Ìle so special ❤️

Every year during Fèis Ìle we are delighted to welcome back our wonderful guests from Diageo who come to Islay to help bring the magic of the festival to life.

We are always in awe of the incredible effort, energy and kindness they bring — not only creating such special experiences for visitors from all over the world, but also the support they give to the teams based here on Islay throughout the busy festival period.

They arrive shortly, and we’ve been busy putting together a few little treats to welcome them back to Glenegedale House. Here’s a little peek at some of their personalised Fèis Ìle survival kits, filled with goodies and handy essentials for the week ahead.

As the sun sets over Islay, we’re getting ready to welcome one of the most magical weeks of the year… 🥃☀️🎶

Feis Ile begins this week, and it looks like we’re in for a stunning spell of sunshine, music, laughter, and of course a dram or two of Islay’s finest malt whisky.

There’s something so special about this island during festival week — the atmosphere, the friendships, the stories shared, and the sound of music drifting across the island long into the evening light.

A very warm welcome to all of our guests travelling to Islay for the celebrations. We can’t wait to share this beautiful week with you here at Glenegedale House. ✨
