The most insane tuna fresh from Dennis Knight Fish Merchant Port Isaac wrapped in a Cornish “3 cornered leek” pesto (or wild garlic as it’s better known), freshly picked from a woodland walk that morning.

Now over the years of using Air BnB, VRBO etc myself I have developed some “pet peeves” (let’s call them that) - I knew I wanted Kildare to reinvent those stereotypes… my greatest one being poor visitors guides ! So come and stay with us - receive not only recommendations via emails BUT DETAILED ones in our guide - here is a little snippet for you 😉

Lets note a few reasons Kildare is different to your "usual" Air B'n'B:

1. Our bedding is super comfy - we use Fogarty and Dorma beddings, our pillow protectors are scented with eucalyptus and we drop lavender oil along the beams, ensuring you have the most relaxing sleep possible.
2. For the ladies ... our hairdryer is a GOOD one - Re*****on with 3 temperature settings AND power to get the job done quickly - diffuser heads and styling heads all provided :)
3. Our Kitchen is stocked up with everything you need to cook up a storm with the local produce.
4. We use an amazing company for our coffee ... The wonky ones at the Wonky Coffee Company provide us with delicious coffee pods for your stay and all whilst helping our planet by reducing waste from damaged coffee pods ... give them a try!
5. Finally - we strive for perfection - yes the final photo may be strange ... but we spent this weekend cleaning up - this included a full rug clean in the living room and a "refluff" to make her smell and look AMAZING !!

Our romantic Cornish Cottage, situated in Port Isaac Cornwall is still available throughout January and February.

Winter in Port Isaac is our favourite time of year - some local businesses pack up to have a well earned break, but this does not mean the area loses its charm!

Pack your walking boots and find solitude in the exquisite beauty of the rugged Cornish Coastal Paths, take day trips to nearby villages such as Tintagel and Boscastle to learn about the history and pop back to the Golden Lion for a pint next to the fire.

Our cottage features a traditional log burner, a selection of books and games, and a kitchen packed with all the cooking equipment you could need for a cosy night in. I think winter here is under rated and compared with summer you can really take the time to explore in complete peace - making the most of our little Cornish gem, whilst reconnecting with nature - Why not use the discount code to recharge to start the year!

Why not post food everyday … especially when it’s local - beautiful fillet steak from Philip Johnson Butcher’s (Bodmin), a lovely crispy jacket spud with garlic butter () and a delicious peppercorn sauce!!

At Kildare we love to cook making use of all the ingredients on the door step … this is why we ensure our little cottage is well stocked with decent pans, SHARP knives and we try and keep a stock of herbs,spices and stocks to help start your cooking journey at Port Isaac 🦞🥰

After a rather wet and windy day in Port Isaac we wanted something to warm us up …. Beautifully fragrant lime and coriander rice and a salted Cornish butter/garlic naan accompanied this DELIGHTFUL Goan Fish Curry with cod from Dennis Knight Fish Merchant Port Isaac😊

Another culinary delight ! We love a simple but fresh lunch in our little cottage in Port Isaac. Fresh 1/2 lobster from Just Shellfish 🦞 and tuna from Dennis Knight Fish Merchant Port Isaac both with garlic/cornish butter.

We strongly recommend this on your next visit.

Sometimes it’s the simple things - lovely morning stroll on the beach then off to Dennis Knight Fish Merchant Port Isaac to pick up our breakfast … a simple crumpet with Cornish butter, delicious smoked haddock and a soft poached egg…

Setting us up nicely for a long walk. 😊🩷
