A proud morning for Perle in Oban last week 💛

We were so pleased to host the pre-march gathering for the Oban Games at Lulu Bar, bringing everyone together at Perle Oban before the official March of the Stewards set off through the town.

It was great to see the hotel right at the heart of such a longstanding local tradition, and to welcome everyone in before the march began.

How difficult is the walk? How long should you allow? Where do you park? When should you visit? What should you wear? And what might you spot while you’re there? 🥾

A little heads-up for anyone exploring Skye this Saturday. 🚗

The Staffin Triathlon & 10K takes place this Saturday 29 August, so if you’re staying with us or travelling around the island, there are a couple of temporary changes worth knowing about.

📍 An Corran Road will be closed from 10am to 1pm while around 100 triathletes use the route.

📍 Note: Increased activity is expected on Maligar/Gearrish Road between 11.30am and 12.30pm.

And if your plans take you towards Staffin anyway, you might want to stop for a while and cheer them on. The triathlon swims all take place around Staffin Bay.

A useful one to know before setting off for the day, and good luck to everyone taking part!

This Thursday (27th August) the Oban Games will begin almost right on our doorstep.

The traditional March of the Stewards sets off from outside Perle Oban , before making its way through town as Games Day gets underway.

If you’re staying with our Oban hotel, or anywhere nearby this week, it’s a brilliant day to be in town - a local tradition well worth seeing.

The Games take place this Thursday 27 August, and there’s still time to get your tickets.

A big day in Oban is getting closer!

The The Argyllshire Gathering Oban Games return on Thursday 27 August, and this year our team at Perle Oban will be getting involved by sponsoring the 800m race.

It’s a small way for us to support an event that brings the local community and visitors together for a day of Highland Games traditions, competition and plenty happening around Mossfield.
