Curlew Cottage

Curlew Cottage Luxury retreat on the romantic Isle of Skye. Curlew Cottage sits in rolling farmland overlooking Loch Snizort with a view of the Harris Hills.

Curlew Cottage is a purpose built cosy retreat ideal for couples who want to get away from it all for a break on the Isle of Skye. Situated a short walk from the shores of Loch Greshornish, on the outskirts of the little village of Edinbane, Curlew Cottage enjoys a tranquil setting amidst rolling farmland with a view of the Loch and the hills of the Outer Hebrides beyond. Edinbane lies on the Port

ree-Dunvegan road making this an ideal location for exploring the whole island. The village itself has two pubs with restaurants and bars; the Edinbane Inn has regular traditional music sessions and local beer on tap. The Edinbane Lodge was completely refurbished in 2019 and offers an exceptionally high quality set menu with wine pairing- cannot be recommended highly enough. Within a short walk of the cottage you can enjoy the shoreside or stroll up the back of the croft into the hills for a stunning view of Loch Snizort. Just five minutes away by car you will find the Greshornish peninsula which has a number of outstanding walks and resident eagles, plus a choice of two restaurants. Dunvegan, with a range of shops, places to eat, and the world famous castle with stunning gardens and boat trips, is seven miles away; Portree, capital of the island, is 14 miles. The cottage features a double bedroom, shower room with large walk-in shower, and an open plan living/kitchen room with vaulted ceiling. Large sliding doors make the most of the lochside view whilst a woodburning stove adds a cosy touch. The cottage has been designed with comfort and low energy usage in mind. Using passive-house technology, insulation standards are far higher than most new builds, whilst active ventilation maintains the highest standards of air quality- good news for hay fever sufferers. A log burner provides a cosy touch. The cottage is fully equipped with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher and washer/drier. Wifi, electricity, and logs for the fire are all included.

Exciting times, our favourite pub has been passed on to new owners who bring decades of local hospitality experience. And you're certain to see some familiar faces behind the bar.
As I understand it the very popular Sunday music sessions are not currently running, however the Inn is open for lunches as well as evening meals this year.

Extremely excited to announce that we are now officially open.

We are currently serving lunch 12noon-2pm and dinner 5pm-9pm.

Please use the link below to reserve your table.

Hi Folks,

Hope you all had a smashing Christmas!

If you're looking for something to do, or a wee break from the house, why not come along to John Lumley's pub quiz at the Inn?
If that's not enough encouragement, perhaps we could tempt you with a burger before hand!

Give us a shout if you'd like to book a table.

Cheers!

We've had a great start to our 6th season. We don't like to blow our own trumpet but when you receive feedback like this, we can't help it!
A massive thank you, as always, to all our great guests 😁🤩.................

Best location on Skye. Wish we could have stayed longer.
+ We loved staying at Curlew Cottage. As soon as we arrived, we was struck by the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside that enveloped the cottage. The cozy and well-equipped interior provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the area.

The location of Curlew Cottage was truly idyllic. We were so happy we stayed here instead of Portree which was only a 15 minute drive away. We spent the evenings enjoying the fresh air and watching the sheep. The cottage itself was impeccably clean and tidy, with ample parking and large picture window to soak in the natural beauty. Overall, our stay at Curlew Cottage was an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a tranquil retreat in the Scottish countryside.

SCOTTISH RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR!

“Now less than five years since opening, the restaurant on the Isle of Skye has been voted the best in Scotland, beating some of the country’s best known and most celebrated establishments.

Edinbane Lodge took the title of Restaurant of the Year at the Scottish Excellence Awards, presented at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh last night

Judges said: “Calum and his team were above exceptional in all aspects of the criteria including benchmarking, innovation, sustainability and ethics. With a very strong list of finalists, all those who were short-listed made the final call very difficult, such was the calibre of applicants. “

Montgomery was also a finalist in the Chef of the Year category of the Excellence Awards, described as ‘the ultimate accolade for businesses and individuals working in Scottish hospitality.'

Presented by TLTT - The award was accepted by Katie Morton, Emma Millar, Eilidh Montgomery and Calum Montgomery from Edinbane Lodge.

Congratulations to all winners and finalists last night. A great night featuring the best of Scottish hospitality.
