💙 Thinking of our local Portsmouth RNLI and to all those who serve our country and community as first responders, emergency services, Armed Forces, NHS and care services
⚓️Here at Ashbys, we were saddened to hear that the Portsmouth RNLI station at Eastney has had to temporarily pause its operations. We don't get involved in politics — this isn't a political statement, it’s simply about showing appreciation for those that look after the safety of our local community and those at sea too.
The RNLI is our fourth emergency service, its volunteer crews have a purely humanitarian purpose: to rescue any person facing the threat of drowning, regardless of who they are.
Being a proud seafaring city, our waters are home to everyone from elite SailGP and America's Cup crews to local fishermen and pleasure boaters, swimmers and people enjoying the sea.
Many of our favourite guests live their lives at sea and rely heavily on the peace of mind the RNLI provides. We also know the personal dedication it takes firsthand through those who have served, like our Mums neighbour Lewis.
The Portsmouth station is historically one of the busiest in the UK—In 2019 it helped over 38,000 people and directly saved some 374 lives.
To show our gratitude for the people who keep us safe, Ashbys is introducing Discounted Rates for first responders.
