Taverners Lodge

Taverners Lodge We have much pleasure in welcoming you, be you Mason or not and hope that you will find this Masonic page both useful and informative.

Our Lodge is one of a group of Lodges that meet at Cosham Masonic Hall. The Social events depicted on some of our pages give you a small sense of how we go about ensuring that Freemasonry in the UK remains the second biggest giver of Charitable donations outside of the National Lottery, as every one of the events pictured here was staged to raise money for various Masonic and Non Masonic Charities

. Events such as these are held at Lodges that meet all over the UK, indeed all over the World and the money raised is passed on to various worthwhile causes. As our suggests this lodge was formed by Brethren who were involved in the Licensing trade, but our membership has diversified since then and we have men from many different walks of life. If you are interested in joining us, please read the information available to you (through the related Links to the various sources of information we have provided on our website).

Members of the lodge attended the annual cheque presentation evening at Cosham Masonic Hall where cheques were presented to local charities in excess of £36,000.
Our Worshipful Master presented a cheque to Rowans Hospice.
Moments like these make me proud to be a Mason, helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

Members of Taverners Lodge have been active in raising money to support local charities. Our Worshipful Master Greg Moseley took a tumble out of a plane to raise money for Sophies Legacy (Sophie's Legacy). Through his good work he raised £2500.00 which was presented at the Area Cheque Presentation evening. Over the last year local lodges have supported local charities to the amount of £109,290.00.
Three other members Nick Milburn, Matt Lawes and Pete Higgins supported Portsmouth Hospitals Charity(https://www.porthosp.nhs.uk/departments-and-services/portsmouth-hospitals-charity/96352) , taking part in the Walk for Wards event and raising money for the charity.

Our lodge meets 6 times a year, every 2 months. The months in-between we have a social get together where our families can come together.
On Saturday 27th May we held a wonderful fun evening at the Sea Shanty night arranged by our WM and membership officer..
Raised nearly £300 going to the WM charity, Sophies Legacy.

Lovely that the WM is going to top it up to £300

Good fun, great company and in the best traditions of Freemasonry, raising money for charity to support those less fortunate than ourselves.

What a great evening at the lodge tonight. A great ceremony where a grandfather helped in the initiation ceremony of his grandson, witnessed by 95 brethren.
The support of 60 visiting brethren typifies what Freemasonry is about.
The lodge thanks all of our visitors for coming along and supporting us and look forward to when we can meet you all again.
If you are not a Freemason, live in the Portsmouth area and interested in joining, visit our website and make contact with us.

Members of the lodge, along with friends and family attended the Still and West pub for an informal meal and social gathering.
A few bottles were handed out to the new comers and to some of the family members who have continually supported the lodge for many years.
Thank you to the organisers who also managed to raise £133.50 without any raffle or donations. That money will go into the Worshipful Masters chosen charity at the end of his term of office.
A great time was had by all and we are looking forward to the next one in March.
