We've had a very special visitor at Portsoy Marble… and what a beauty she was! 🚗✨

This stunning vintage car pulled up outside, turning heads and adding a touch of timeless elegance to our harbour setting. With its soft colour, gleaming chrome details and classic curves, it looked right at home against Portsoy’s historic harbour backdrop.

Thank you to our lovely visitors for stopping by and bringing a little extra charm to the day!

🌟 As Volunteers’ Week (1–7 June) draws to a close, we would like to take a moment to thank the wonderful people who have generously given their time, skills and enthusiasm to support the Portsoy Marble Creatives Hub project.

This week alone, we have been fortunate to receive help from a number of volunteers who have made a real difference.

🔥 A huge thank you to Portsoy Fire Service, who once again came to our rescue by tackling some of the heaviest and most awkward items in the warehouse. From long bunk bed frames to a cast iron mangle, nothing seemed to faze them, and all with plenty of good humour and banter along the way.

💫 We are also incredibly grateful to Eilidh and Rhona, who devoted two full days to helping sort, pack and research items from the collection. From cleaning pottery and exploring mystery boxes to preparing fascinating finds for display at the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, their hard work, knowledge and enthusiasm were invaluable.

🛠️ Our thanks also go to Lee and the team at the Portsoy Men’s Shed, who kindly restored an item we were keen to preserve. Thanks to their skills and craftsmanship, we can now save it and continue to tell its story for future generations.

The Portsoy Marble Creatives Hub project has benefited from the support of many volunteers since it began, and we are extremely grateful for every contribution, large or small. Community spirit, shared knowledge and practical help continue to play an important part in preserving and celebrating our local heritage 🏛️
