One of the things I love about being on holiday is having the time to do something I rarely manage in the busyness of everyday life — simply sit down and read.

🏖️ Happy National Beach Day!

As the weekend comes to an end, we thought we’d celebrate with a look at one of the things our guests can enjoy when staying at Abeen Atlantic Holiday Home — a trip to the beach without having to bring half the house with you! 😂

Chairs, windbreak, bodyboards, buckets & spades, boules and more are all waiting in the shed and storage cupboard.
Just grab what you need, load up the car and head off to enjoy the North Coast. 🌊
And if National Beach Day has left you wishing for more beach days, here’s something that might surprise you…
October sea temperatures in Portstewart are warmer than June and only around half a degree cooler than July.
So perhaps the beach season doesn’t finish when August does after all! 😉🏖️

Golf on your doorstep ⛳
A 4-minute walk… maybe 5 with the clubs! 😉
We overlook Portstewart Old Golf Course, so you can be on the course in no time — and there’s something for golfers of all abilities.
🏌️ Portstewart Old Course right on the doorstep
⛳ Pitch & Putt for a more relaxed game or
🏆 Royal Portstewart for the serious golfer, both just a 3-minute drive away
And we’ve thought about the practicalities too. There’s space to securely lock away your golf clubs in the outside shed, while the conservatory is a handy spot for drying equipment when you’ve had one of those typical North Coast days!
Golf, sea air and a comfortable base to come back to — what’s not to like?

One of our children’s favourite places on a rainy day in Portrush 🌊
The Portrush Coastal Zone was always a favourite when our children were younger — especially on those days when the weather wasn’t quite beach weather!
There was plenty to discover, from rock pools and sea creatures to learning about the plants and wildlife living along our coast. 🦀🌿
It’s one of those places that manages to be fun and educational without the children really noticing they’re learning! 😄
And years later, we still think it’s a great little stop when you’re staying on the North Coast.

After our journey to Portstewart, this is always my first stop… ☕️🌊

A cup of tea, a look at the sea and a few minutes to switch off.

There’s something very special about coming back here, even after all the work that goes into looking after it.

I wonder how many of our guests have the same little ritual? ❤️

Some celebrations are better with your nearest & dearest. 🥂❤️

Abeen Atlantic has already been the setting for wedding anniversaries, 60th and 70th birthday celebrations — and it’s lovely to know that guests have chosen our home for such special occasions.

Sleeping up to 8 guests, it’s definitely not a venue for a big party or hen weekend!

But for a small celebration with family or close friends, it can be just the place.

A few decorations, a glass of bubbly, good food, plenty of laughter… and perhaps a little time to relax afterwards.
The perfect ingredients for making memories together. ❤️
