It's with mixed feelings we are saying goodbye to The East Dart Hotel, which has been our home for the last 12 years. We have had a wonderful time living on Dartmoor and business has been great, especially the last couple of years with this latest trial for everyone. We would like to thank all customers, guests and friends for their support throughout our time here. A special thank you to those helping with our move. We wish Ben and Karen good luck in their new venture at The East Dart Inn (so glad they took our advice and changed the name) and hope that you continue to support them as you did us.

What can we say. What a really horrible end to this year, after a really lovely season. First I (and the kids) got Covid-19 (lucky we had spare rooms at the Hotel and Paul could stay there!!) and then Paul fell off a ladder clearing out the gutters and fractured his ribs 😢.

Unfortunately we have thus had to close early for Christmas. We will reopen on Friday 21st January 2022 at noon.

Until then, we wish all customers, past, present and future a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2022.

Today is the day. Hooray!

Open from noon until finish with food served between noon until 2.30pm and then between 6 and 8pm.
Normal guidelines are in place:
- please use hand sanitiser provided regularly
- please keep 2 metres between you where possible
- masks must be worn on entering and exiting and when not seated at your table.
- 1 way system in operation
- please check in using the track and trace.

We are looking for a cook to join our small team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Preparing food for customers to a consistently high standard.

Ensuring that stock levels are kept up to date.

Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and adhering to health and hygiene standards at all times.

Have strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Full time that will include weekends and Bank Holidays. Own transport essential but staff accommodation is available.

We are looking for a House Keeper and Cleaner to join our small team.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Ensuring all rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest possible standard in order to exceed customer and owner expectations.

Ensuring all ensuite rooms have appropriate linen and provisions prior to guests arriving.

Assisting in the deep cleaning of accommodation and the pub as and when required

Have strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Part time that will include weekends and Bank Holidays. Full time is available, the extra time being made up by assisting in the kitchen with food prep and pot wash.

Well the perfect end to a perfect weekend!!!

Due to the adverse weather conditions today (wind, rain and very cold 🥶 ) we will not be opening today 😪

Thank you to everybody who supported us this our first weekend back and we look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, weather permitting.

Typical! Our 1st day of opening and it rains!

We are opening weekends including this bank holiday Monday from noon until 4pm, weather permitting. Service in the front beer garden. It is still too cold to open evenings yet. Accommodation is available for business or essential travel only.

From 17 May we will be fully functioning Hooray (Government permitting!!). Accommodation available to all - warrants another Hooray!!
