Margaret’s Cottage is an end of terrace farm cottage surrounded by countryside. Margaret’s Cottage was one of three cottages owned by Rookery Farm , where the owner grew up. These cottages were to provide homes for the farm labourers and Margaret’s the second largest, was for the Farm Foreman and the biggest cottage, Norah’s Cottage at the other end was for the Farm Manager with the smallest cottage in the middle being for the Cowman- you could never be late for work! These cottages date back to the 1890’s and Margaret’s Cottage is ideal for a peaceful, rural holiday but still is close enough to lots of amenities and family entertainment.

There are super walks from Margaret’s with access onto Weavers Way and Hickling Broad, ideal for Birdwatching . Only six miles away is the beautiful sandy blue flag beach at Sea Palling. And less than a mile away is Potter Heigham, one of the main boating centres on the Norfolk Broads. Picnic, Day Boat, Canoe and Kayak hire can be arranged through me.

This cottage style home is comfortable and cosy and has a wonderful outdoor space. With a choice of places to be in the garden, you may spot a Swallow Tail Butterfly and you can watch the sunset over the fields.

"We enjoyed our stay in beautiful Norfolk despite a rather wet & sometimes chilly week. The cottage was comfortable & well equipped. Loved the peaceful view across the fields from the back bedroom & seeing the wildlife.
Enjoyed walks from Horsey Windpump NT to beach & spotting seals along the beach at California Sands, Caister & Gorleston on Sea & along the river from Acle, beside the railway from Wroxham & to St Benet's Abbey from Ludham. Lots of geocaching accomplished." - S & T 14.06.2026

Margaret's Cottage is a rural farm cottage dating from the 1900's. She is set in a beautiful countrside location, close to the historic Potter Heigham Bridge, Hickling Broad & Sea Palling beach. A perfect place to spend time with family. Ideal for a relaxing getaway with plenty to do as an ideal location for walking, birdwatching and hiring a boat on the Norfolk Broads.

Sleeps up to 5 in 3 Bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 single).
Towels and linen are provided with beds made up for your arrival.
