The changing places bed at The Bank is an important addition to the bathroom for guests who need assistance to shower. It is therefore an important date in the calendar to get it serviced and checked over to make sure it is fully functional for all our guests. Thanks to Astor Bannerman for carrying out this very important job 🙂

"The Bank is a great place and equipped to a high standard for our needs, but especially for our daughter who has cerebral palsy and cannot walk so is reliant on a wheelchair and other specialist equipment. The quality of the disabled equipment is the best we have ever had in any holiday home that we have ever stayed in during the last 36 years, and we think the price-point is about right for high-end accommodation of this type. We applaud you for going the extra mile (and expense!). The wrap-a-round decking is fantastic, and the view across the pond is brilliant. The beds, cooker, hob and furnishings etc are all top quality."

We have had so much postive feedback from guests who have stayed with us. This is still a learning curve and little additions are being added as they're suggested.
However we've had lots of comments from couples who would like to sleep together and are dismayed to see that the profiling bed is only a wide single and cannot sleep two.

We took advice from an occupational therapist and other owners of accessible homes before furnishing the property. It was decided that a wide single profiling bed would enable carers easier access as they wouldn't have to reach across a larger bed. We are able to split the super king bed in one of the other bedrooms and place a single next to the profiling bed so that couples can sleep in the same room.
In this photo there is a bedside table in between but we can place the beds adjacent to each other if necessary.

There's something special about the simple beauty of cornflowers in full bloom.
Around The Bank, these vibrant blue flowers add a splash of colour to the landscape, creating the perfect setting for a peaceful countryside escape 💙

Not the most exciting photo but two very important bits of kit....
We installed a washing machine before we opened for business but a recent guest said that a tumble drier would be useful so here it is.
We are also going to add a washing line for outside drying (when weather permits)😃
