The Sportsman is a vibrant local pub in the heart of the South Downs, with an unrivalled view over the Amberley Wildbrooks. Perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, walkers and cyclists. We have five en-suite B&B rooms with views over the Wildbrooks or the South Downs

. We serve a variety of locally produced real ales and pride ourselves on the quality of how we store and serve them. Food available Mon-Sat 12-2.30pm and 6-8pm and Sunday 12-3pm. This Thursday night at The Sportsman Inn our monthly Open Mic Live Music Night returns for any aspiring musicians to come on down and take a turn playing any tunes they want to perform. Looking forward to another great night at this wonderful village Inn.

It’s finally here… BeerFest is officially underway at The Sportsman, Amberley! 🍻

We’ve got an incredible line up ready for you – 15 cask ales, 3 craft kegs, and cider, from easy-drinking blondes to bold stouts (including our strongest ever at 11% 😏).

Today is the final reveal in our countdown to Spring BeerFest and today we have:

Old Dray from Triple fff

A long-awaited return… and a proper piece of brewing history.

Old Dray from Triple fff Brewery is a classic 4.8% ESB, brewed from an original 60-year-old recipe once used by a Head Brewer at Bass. The recipe was later passed down to Triple fff’s founder and Head Brewer, Graham Trott and thankfully, it’s still going strong today!

This is traditional British brewing at its finest, with a complex blend of five malts creating depth and richness, balanced by East Kent Goldings and Progress hops, used both in the boil and for dry hopping.

Expect a beautifully rounded, full-flavoured ESB with that perfect balance of malt character and classic English hop bitterness.

Timeless, characterful and well worth the wait 🍻
