Spindle Cottage is a self-catering cottage on the Mendip Hills in Somerset. We are 5 miles from the beautiful city of Wells and 16 miles from Bath.
Built in 1640 this place is magical and quite unique. The sitting room has charm and comfort, with a wood burning stove as well as central heating, beautiful cosy funiture & a beamed ceiling, TV with Netflix.
In the downstairs hall way lots of toys & games & a good selection of books. Down stairs loo. Stair gate for the safety of little children
Up stairs the cottage sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms. (A double unsuite, a twin room and a single) Across the hall is the family bathroom & has a shower cubicle, plus a bath, loo & wash basin.
Down stairs you enter via your conservatory into your well equipt kitchen. On into the dining room with Oak flooring & a utility room all makes this the perfect place for a self-catering holiday cottage.
The garden is a dream of delight for children & the not so young.
2022 prices start from £675 to £1,250 per week. Dates available from March 2022 onwards

We are fully open for holiday guests at Spindle Cottage and the Shepherds Hut.
In the cottage we have just 19th to 23rd September available. Price £550 short week. All of October is fully booked. Bookings available in the cottage November and December from £575 to £1,000 for Christmas week.
The Shepherds Hut is available from 13th September at £60 per night. Minimum of 2 nights

Hi everyone,

Probably just like most of you I have done a bit of everything in the passed six weeks..... clearing cupboards, shelves, linen cupboards, a bit of gardening, some sewing, some ironing, some baking, walking round the footpaths, helping Alban in the garden .
Out came all the bunting to decorate the car port for your VE Day calibrations. Alban made a lovely VE sign and drew a Hop Scotch's in the layby, much enjoyed by the local children. I must say how blessed we are here in Somerset with a great husband in a lovely house with a beautiful garden.
Some guests are changing their dates and coming later which we looking forward to seeing them all.

Hello to all our guests of the past, thank you all for your kind reviews and remarks. Also greetings to those of you that have wisely needed to cancel. We hope you are all keeping well and certainly hope to see you return to our holiday cottage when the time is right. Rest assure we shall be ready for your return with a big welcome and open arms
We feel so fortunate here at Spindle Cottage in Binegar. Spring is in rapid progress and looking beautiful. Our Lemon tree and Orange tree in our Sun Room is in flower and the scent is heavenly. The geranium in the holiday cottage conservatory is in full flower from floor to ceiling.
We have seen that the Swallows have arrived early and a tiny Wren has built a nest in our bug house. How lucky are we to have a garden. Alban is busy planting veggies, cutting the grass and weeding. I am learning how to use Zoom and how lovely to see our family all gathered together laughing and talking on screen. Time to go as another Zoom is planned quite soon. So take care all of you and hope to see you again when the time is right.

Hello from Angela & Alban at Spindle Cottage. It is a lovely sunny morning today 2nd March 2020 so we both went into the conservatory in the holiday cottage to have a look round. It was so warm and cosy so we sat for a while. The Geranium is in full flower and looks lovely, it loves the warmth from the stone wall. Then we noticed some cob webs, so, out came the long handled duster and did some early Spring cleaning. We have already had some guests in February and Jan & Maurice a have booked again for this month (its always a pleasure to see them returning year after year) . We still have pre Easter and Easter week available and still some weeks in May and June for those of you needing a holiday. We have been busy getting Spindle Cottage ready for Christmas and New Year guests with fairy lights, a tree and lots of fancy bits and bobs. Filling up the log basket, laying the fire and making sure it will be warm a cosy for everyone. I am sure they will love it. An old cottage like ours certainly has a Christmastide feeling about it.
