The Bell at Ramsbury is a 300 year old coaching inn that has been through many changes over the years. Currently The Bell is a pub with 9 letting rooms, award winning restaurant and café. Opening times from 11/01/2023

Tuesday - Thursday: 12:00 - 22:00
Friday & Saturday: 12:00 - 23:00
Sunday: 12:00 - 17:00

Café Bella is open from 8:00-16:00 Tuesday to Saturday and 8.30am. Hygge

Wine bar is open 18:00 - 22:00 Friday & Saturday

For a night away we have 9 letting rooms across the main pub and our coach house, including breakfast.

Ever thought about sharpening your butchery skills and learning more about meat preparation? Back by popular demand, we’re relaunching our butchery masterclass sessions. Join us on Thursday 30th April for our venison class, learning how to clean and prepare the famous and lesser-known cuts of the animal.

Enjoy taster dishes from our menu, drinks, and two hours of demonstration from James himself. Welcome drinks from 6:30 pm, masterclass starts at 7 pm.

Whether you’re here for an afternoon, long weekend, or more, here are three of our favourite Ramsbury walks that start (and finish!) at The Bell 👇🏼

For a little extra fun, we’ve gone retro, guiding you through each walk with instructions rather than an interactive or digital map; a lovely way to spend a day out in the countryside 🌳 Each of the walks is dog friendly, but keep in mind that there’s a lot of livestock nearby

1 - The Ramsbury Viewpoint. Whilst not its official name, this loop offers a wonderful view of the village.

📍From the Bell, head down Scholar’s Lane, and turn right at the T-junction towards Froxfield.
📍Head straight until you see a stony track to your right.
📍Continue along the track until you find a little gateway to your left.
📍Up the hill, through the metal gate, and all the way up to the top.
📍 Turn around, and you’ll have a delightful view of our lovely little village.
📍To head back, walk down the hill straight toward the village, and you’ll meet a little pathway through the woods. Follow the path until you reach another metal gate.
📍Head straight, past a cottage on your left, then on your right, over the river, and you’re back on the high street.
📍Turn right and make tracks back to the pub.

2 - The Viewpoint and beyond!
📍 As above, but instead of crossing the river back into the pub, take a left at the first cottage.
📍 Head down the track and through the gate.
📍Keep going until you come to a right-hand bend in the road. 📍Instead of turning right, head straight, over the style, and into the field.
📍Head to the left-hand corner of the field, where you’ll find another style.
📍Hop over, and turn right. Pass the houses on your right, and continue to the bridge over the lake.
📍Pause for a moment and take in the beautiful view.
📍Continue the same way, until you reach the road.
📍(Carefully) cross the road and walk right along the footpath until you reach the village.
