Badgers Holt Holiday let near Redruth in Central West Cornwall UK. Often described as 'A piece of Heaven'.

Modern bungalow on the site of the old dairy, sleep 4 in 2 bedrooms. Watch the badgers every night as the forage for peanuts on the lawn. Please note that the view on google earth is several years old and does not show the work that has been done over those years to the garden and parking area etc.

Our Great Spotted Woodpecker is busy calling for a mate by short blasts of drumming. He's been at it for 3 days and has also started a second hole in his box which is in the trees at the front of the property.
Meanwhile, the Green Woodpecker is calling in the back garden and has enlarged the hole in the box out there.
Hoping for lots of young this year.

Our 3 squirrels are busy building a new drey when they already have a large one at the bottom of the cops. Why are they doing this in December? Any squirrel experts out there?

We normally have 5 or 6 badgers visit each evening for their peanuts and eggs but last night it was 7. Wonderful to see.

Lovely tonight to see 6 badgers up together. The 3 cubs are growing so fast, it won't be long until they catch up with the adults.

Today's visitor. He has been strutting his stuff in the fields for the last few weeks and today decided that the badgers water and bird food was to his liking. We have called him Emperor as it suits his superiority.

Mr and Mrs badger last night. The boar is the big fella behind, the sow is looking very pregnant. Badgers have their cubs in February, so any time soon. We will be waiting to see them in May when they come up to thehouse with mum and play while she eats. 😊

Some time ago I contacted DEFRA and requested that our badgers be included in the Cornwall Badger Vaccination Programme....

Some time ago I contacted DEFRA and requested that our badgers be included in the Cornwall Badger Vaccination Programme. Today an officer from APHA (the Animal & Plant Health Agency) visited and surveyed our sett and runs. He has set up 4 traps to start the process and will be back at 5 am. Once vaccinated they will be safe from the cull. ❤️
