The Ponderosa

The Ponderosa Touring Caravan and Tent Holiday Park We are a small family run site equivalent to the size of a CL/CS. We only have one shower and one toilet.

We do have a small utility with hot water, washing machine and tumble dryer. We only have one hard standing pitch at present but this is just at the entrance to the field.

🚨🙏 In light of the good weather forecast and a hosepipe ban across Cornwall, we're asking our residents and visitors to be extra vigilant:

✅ Avoid barbecues or lighting fires of any kind, especially in or near areas that are already dry
✅ Always ensure that when discarding ci******es they are completely extinguished
✅ Pack a picnic or better still, grab a pasty from your local baker!

Every campsite has its own rules... but then there are the unwritten ones! 🚐⛺

You won't find these on a sign at reception but there are plenty of unwritten rules that make life better for everyone.

🔹 Don't cut through someone else's pitch, even if it saves you 30 seconds.

🔹 If you arrive late, keep the noise down. Your neighbours probably aren't as excited to see you as you are to have finally arrived!

🔹 If someone's setting up, don't stand there offering advice unless they ask for it. We've all been there.

🔹 Leave the shower block as you'd hope to find it.

🔹 Keep your dog under control. A friendly hello is lovely, but hours of barking isn't!

🔹 Those flashing awning lights might look festive at 8pm, but at midnight they're a little less magical! 😄

🔹 Don't use a generator or diesel heater early in the morning or late at night, or even worse, overnight.

🔹 If you're up at 6am, that's great... just don't expect everyone else to be!

Some of these are common sense. Others seem to divide opinion!

So here's the question...

What's the biggest unwritten rule of campsites?

At present we will not be allowing any disposable, coal or briquette bbqs or fires due to the dry conditions. If you have a gas bbq please ensure you have your fire extinguisher and water bucket to hand. Do not leave bottles on the ground.
