Glebe Farm Adventures

Glebe Farm Adventures 🌟5-star property in Rhossili! Uninterrupted sea views across Rhossili beach. Immaculately presented, hot tub & heated gazebo. How the Adventure Started…….

Check dates here: https://www.holidaycottages.co.uk/cottage/oc-21221-glebe-farm On the 27 May 1976 our Glebe Farm journey began. On this day, Ann Lucy Smith was born into a growers family in Essex. Annie’s family holidayed in Port Eynon from her early years. Annie’s earliest holiday memories are of playing on the beach with her sisters and cousins after they took over the local B&B for the week. A

nnie’s love affair with the Gower grew as her years passed and culminated in teenage holidays at Hill End campsite when her parents purchased a caravan at the site on Llangennith beach. When Annie Smith met Daniel Jones in 2005, they holidayed at Hill End every year to enjoy quiet time, coastal walks and pub lunches. The sea air and scenery helped to cleanse their souls. On the 26th April 2007 as their love grew for each other and the Gower Peninsula, Daniel proposed to Annie on Worms Head. Daniel remembers the day well; ‘I had the engagement ring in a box in my fleece pocket. We walked from Hill End to Worms Head to catch the low tide, but every 10 steps I had to check the ring had not fallen out. The walk was rushed as I knew that if we missed the low tide to get out to Worms Head, all would be lost and I would have to wait for another day’. The weather was kind that day, as was the pace of walking and low tide and Daniel proposed on one knee to Annie. Thankfully the answer was ‘yes’ and the newly engaged couple had a beer to celebrate at the Worms Head hotel. Since that special day, Daniel and Annie were married on the 6th September 2008 and have enjoyed summer holidays every year on the Gower. When work allowed, a short break was enjoyed twice or even three times a year. From 2009 and 2011 that special Gower bond was enhanced when Annie gave birth to beautiful girls, Lucy and Pippa Jones. Our affinity with the Gower now encompasses love, family and memories. Our time cannot be better spent walking the beach, chatting and catching up, playing in the sea or exploring the rock pools to find treasure. In January 2018 a chance in a lifetime was presented to buy this beautiful hand built home. Glebe Farm was built by Roger Woollacott in 2010 to a high specification. The charm and beauty of the Farmhouse can be felt both inside and out. From the breath-taking views of the beach, sea and surrounding hills, to the relaxing symmetrical design of the internal house. We hope you fall in love with the area, our holiday home and that the combination sparks a special bond within your family for many years to come. With Love,
Daniel and Annie Jones x

During our last visit, we spent quite a few evenings trying to get some good shots of the night sky. None of these does it justice. So if anyone has any tips, please can you share them? Dan Santillo Photography I am mainly thinking of you!😝

Friday photo.
When the mist rolls in it gives a ghostly appearance to Worms Head and Rhossili Bay.
The Old Rectory, the white house set back above the beach, is said to be haunted. The Reverend Lucas, according to folklore can still be seen riding his horse along the beach. Also said to be seen riding on the beach in his carriage is the ghost of Squire Mansell, who is believed to be searching desperately for hidden gold.
So if you're out for a stroll on a misty evening, keep an eye out.

Why is this screenshot so important to me… 💛

It shows my 16-year-old off exploring the Gower with her friend.
They chose adventure. They chose to climb that huge hill. They chose to spend the whole day out discovering the world around them.

And most importantly…they loved every second of it.

Proud mum moment 🥹🌊
