Home to Swinton Park Hotel, Samuel's Restaurant, Chef's Table by Josh Barnes, The Terrace Restaurant, Swinton Country Club, Swinton Cookery School, Swinton Bivouac, and a myriad of activities. Swinton Estate is the ancestral home of the Cunliffe-Lister family and is set in 20,000 acres of Yorkshire pride. The Swinton Park castle is surrounded by the family estate in which guests have access to rivers, reservoirs, moorland, dales and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The Estate is home to Swinton Park, Swinton Cookery School, Swinton Country Club & Spa, Swinton Bivouac and Swinton Outdoors.

Swinton Estate was such a beautiful place to visit this autumn. Opening the curtains in the morning to see the changing colours of the leaves, with deer roaming just across the water, was unforgettable.

Covered in crimson ivy, the estate feels like living in an autumn castle. The Cunliffe-Lister family have cared for this landscape through generations, preserving a corner of Yorkshire that still feels wonderfully peaceful and undiscovered. You can spend hours wandering paths through the trees or exploring the vast walled garden, which feels as romantic as The Secret Garden while supplying fresh produce for the restaurant.

One of the most special experiences was visiting the aviary. Getting to fly an owl and a hawk and learn about their care was incredible. The birds are so well treated here, flown outside in the grounds every single day, and watching them take flight through the autumn air was extraordinary.

From our beautiful room with its views to the incredible food, it was a wonderful stay in one of my favourite parts of the world.
