A message from Siân and Eden ❤️

So Facebook memories has kindly informed us it’s been one whole year of managing The Cem! We won’t bore you all with a big long soppy post, but we honestly can’t thank you all enough for the love and support we’ve had in that time.

It’s been a wonderful year. Back in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, plenty of new faces that we now know and love, and a group of staff that we genuinely gush about to anyone that will listen.

That’s enough of all that. We’ll both see you on the fun side of the bar later 🍻

Is it too early to talk about the weekend ahead? 👀

Usual Thursday and Friday shenanigans first of all. Grab a pint, get some time in the sunshine and stick a few tunes on the jukebox 💃 🕺🏼

Onto Saturday, Dale are back at home against Tamworth! Another huge game, the doors are open from 10am and as ever both home and away fans are welcome ⚽️

And finally on Sunday, we’ll of course have the Carabao Cup Final on all our screens, but we’ve also got a double-Hornets day! The men’s team are back at home and the women’s team start their campaign too. We can’t wait to see you all again 🏉 🐝

It’s quiz night, and tonight’s it’s our big fundraiser quiz for Springhill Hospice ❤️

Sheets will start going out from 8pm, with the quiz itself starting at 8:30pm. It’s £1 entry per-person, which will be donated to Springhill. Siân & Eden have pledged to match money raised for quiz entries, so bring your mates and we’ll even make sure you get fed 🥪

Immediately after the quiz we’ll have Play Your Cards Right, with tonight’s jackpot sitting at a juicy £600 🤑 but that’s not all! We’ll keep halving the pot if we have no winners, so make sure to keep hold of those tickets!

This Mother’s Day we’re celebrating the Mum’s that work tirelessly behind the bar to make sure all your days in the pub are unforgettable 🧡

They’ve all got the day off today so they can rest & put their feet up with any luck! 🧡

For the rest of you, we still have a few tables left if you fancy popping in with your Mam for some bevs and a bite to eat from the lads at Crossroads Catering 🍔

We’ve also got football on the screens today, with Manchester United taking on Villa at 2pm, then later it’s Liverpool vs Tottenham at 4:30, so no matter which red she is, she’ll be happy! ⚽️

We’ve done the maths, and we can announce that the jackpot total for Play Your Cards Right at the upcoming Springhill Hospice Fundraising Quiz is a lovely £600! 🤑

A reminder that it’s this coming Monday (March 16th) starting at 8pm. Entry per-person is £1, and all entry fees will go direct to Springhill Hospice (and Eden and Siân will also match it), and there will be a pot for donations going around the pub as well. And we’ll make sure you get some grub! 🥪

It’s Cask Ale Wednesday folks! That means all pints of cask are £3.40 or less all night 🍻

That includes the lush Northern Rising Unity Stout 🤤 the days are getting brighter, so we’ll more than likely move away from stouts and porters soon for a bit, so get a few while you can!

Siân and Eden are at the annual Northern Bar & Restaurant event at Manchester GMEX today!

They’ll be tasting all the finest beers and spirits in the hope of finding something exciting for you all, but there’s every chance they’ll stumble out and land on the right side of the bar later 🥴 🥂

Ruby will be looking after you all back at the pub from 4pm, and we’ll have the football live on all our screens throughout the evening ⚽️
