Did you know that Angus Kennedy (one of the directors) of blue buzzard has written nine books and is a well respected published author?

We are thinking of writing a book on serviced accommodation to show how it’s done ( I’d rather show how it’s not done) - if anyone is interested please share this message and like .

Bb (Blue Buzzard) has grown from a standing start to a half £1 million business in just over two years.

Is it difficult ? Not really / all we have to do is not give up.

 The process of writing the book is honestly pretty hard work it can take a long time, but if there’s your valued interest then of course, I can write it.

We are currently growing at 200% pa. This was starting this company with no previous knowledge of what or how to do it.

 I believe there are things that we can teach someone in any business start up and life in general-not just serviced accommodation.

 And what makes it even more remarkable is that me (Angus Kennedy) was pretty much homeless, on universal credit , divorced, lost a businesses et cetera , et cetera and no money- all this, just three years ago!

…. that’s gonna make an interesting book.

 You see it’s not about what you think you can do / it is about what you believe and decide what you ‘will’ do.

Blue Buzzard Going for Isaap accreditation

Providers of serviced accommodation need to offer reassurance to clients and guests that they can book and stay with the confidence that all the necessary elements of safety, hygiene, security and quality have been verified.

In 2021 the ISO 31031 Travel Risk Management standard was published, requiring corporate buyers and travel managers to demonstrate that they have met these requirements by selecting accommodation providers that have been verified as satisfying the standard.

So we at BB have decided to opt for ISAAP accreditation and been working hard on qualifying and improving our standards. As many of you know they are high and we take our guests demands seriously.

This accreditation will assure our clients that established standards of accommodation in: security, quality, and comfort have been achieved and that the accommodation provider has been verified as ``ISO 31030 Ready``.

Thank you for helping us make this decision where together, we can drive up safety and quality standards within the entire industry sector.

Hello my name is Gatsby.. Yes I am a dog and my hobby is reading and writing. I have recently joined the Blue Buzzard corporate team this week to do as much as I possibly can to try and stop them (Angus an Leon, the co. directors) from working.

What I particularly like to do (and I find the most effective) is jump on them with their laptops open and put my head under their arms so they can't type.

If that doesn't work; I really like to make a noise, so when there is an Amazon delivery, I bark loudly (well just in case they don't hear the door bell) and normally that get's them to stop work get a little stressed and to pay attention.

Another trick is if they drop a pen while they work, I Iike to chew them instantly.... and leave a big mess too.

But to prevent them from working entirely and absolutely I insist on being taken out for a walk (on random and regular occasions) before they start work, during and just after. I like to pretend I am not house-trained so they really hate that!

And to make my walks longer, I run as fast as I possibly and conceivably can and disappear into the distance so Angus and Leon can't get me. Today that worked and Angus was late for work for the BB accounts meeting.

And; eventually when I do come back, I put on my cute look so no one is annoyed, hehe ... (pictured).

Anyway Leon and Angus asked me if I would like to guest edit today and make myself useful for once and tell you how my day is shaping up and I can say it's dandy. As I am only 1 year old and love causing absolute and total havoc, so far so good. As you can see, I have grabbed Angus' computer to write too so he can't work. It's got a nice cable too, so I might have a nibble at that.

And finally when you call in to Blue Buzzard not only will you hear the canaries in the background saying hello (the birds love to join in too and are very loud)- it's also me in the back up chorus.

So that's a big few woofs, a chew and a mild lick from me for now.

Recently at Blue Buzzard Property we have been working with the incredibly dedicated team at Look Ahead, a Kent based charity who supports local women and families with the most extreme domestic abuse cases in the county.

With the Safe Beds scheme, we have been providing emergency accommodation to women in immediate danger, giving them safe spaces to escape to and removing them from some pretty horrific situations at home. It has truly warmed my heart to be able to work with this charity along with Kent Police to accommodate women that have been forced to flee their homes- some of whom would simply not be alive without the work of Rebecca (pictured) and her team.

A safe house or apartment is such an important step in the road to recovery for these women, and my Dad and I were honoured to speak at the Look Ahead summit last month in front of esteemed members of Kent Police, local councils and charities alike.

Winning the Best Newcomer award was such an honour, and really made me feel proud of the company that my Dad and I stared nearly 3 years ago- I honestly never imagined we would be doing such rewarding work. It’s so easy to slip away into the flow of the time-starved existence of running a business into which I often find myself in, but recently my slow progress in changing from ego to heart has enabled me to see the world differntly 😊

This year my Dad and I have big goals for Blue Buzzard, we are going to take it to a half a million in turnover per annum company- it’s not going to be easy by any means but it’s going to enable us to work with charities like Look Ahead even more and ultimately I have the faith knowing that it’ll be worth it in the end.
