AS from 3rd September Portland House Self Catering (previously Portland House Guest House) is saying GOODBYE to all the friends and many wonderful guests over 17 years (some we choose to forget with great relish but everyone in hospitality gets their share of idiots) This wonderful elegant beautiful house which stands proudly at the heart of Whitchurch will now become the private home of Michael and Lisa and Jenny and John know she will be loved as much as she was by them.

**OFFA'S D**E DELIGHT**

You have to agree that this stunning view overlooking Tintern Abbey is something rather special. Jutting out from the cliffs along the Offa's D**e footpath is the Devil's Pulpit, a popular vantage point for those exploring the great outdoors.

Story has it that the Devil himself preached from this spot to tempt the monks at Tintern away from their religious ways. His sermons fell on deaf ears as the gorgeous Tintern Abbey which was built in 1131 turned out to be one of the most prosperous abbeys in Wales.

So if you're following the Offa's D**e path out of Herefordshire into Momouthshire be sure to stop a while at the Devil's Pulpit and take in this absolutely gorgeous vista.

**LAZY DAYS ON THE WYE**

Herefordshire is such a beautiful place to live in or to visit. The more we explore our beautiful county, the more we fall in love with it.

Whether you just like sitting by the River Wye watching the wildlife, chilling and chatting or actively getting involved canoeing or paddle boarding, there are always new things to discover.

The riverbanks are full of nature, pretty butterflies, lovely wild flowers, chattering birds and noisy ducks. It's always wonderful to see so many people enjoying our various riverside beauty spots.

We love lazy days on or by the wye, who could resist?
