Now we have sunshine there is even more to do in Rye. A new Rye Trail was recently launched so you can potter through the ancient streets of the medieval town at your own pace discovering lots of fascinating little facts as you go (punctuated, of course by visits to tea shops and some f Rye's ancient inns). And after a hard day's exploring what better place to relax but in the sauna or pool at Rye Lodge before a delicious meal at your choice of Rye's finest restaurants. A really perfect short break!

Looking for a special way to spend Sunday afternoon?
This Sunday and again on 10th February, Kerry de Courcy will be demonstration the art of Sabrage at Rye Lodge Hotel in the Champagne Bar at noon. In this centuries-old tradition, a bottle of champagne is decapitated with a sword! Of course it being Scallop week in Rye the experience would not be complete without 3 hot scallops (or your choice of light bites) and a glass of chilled champagne, all for £16.75. From Sat 15th to Sun 23rd Rye celebrates Medieval food with Wild Boar Week. We will be serving wild boar pate in the Champagne bar so why not drop in to sample this delicacy with a glass of chilled champagne - you could, of course, indulge yourself, stay the night (or two) and find out what other delicious medieval dishes are to be had in Rye's restaurants!

There's just time to catch the last of the Rye Arts festival. Follow the Rye Arts Trail to discover work by local artists and craftspeople (maps available from Tourist information), learn about eco-freindly chocolate or take in Sharon Elizabeth's one woman show. Then return to Rye Lodge for true relaxation!

Come and stay at Rye Lodge in August an enjoy a feast for the eyes. Rye Society of Artists' are holding their 60th Anniversary Summer Exhibition from August 6 to September 2. Open every day from 10:30am to 5:30pm, the exhibition is always a delight of work in a wide variety of styles - and of course you can visit Rye's many galleries too before returning to the hotel for a relaxing swim!
