"Cheap & Cheerful Classics" on Special

We are delighted at the enthusiasm for our Quiz Nights - thank you!
Now a monthly affair so you can plan your diaries ahead.
These will run on the second Friday of every month.
So dates ahead: Fridays 10th July, 14th August

The format seems to be working. The genres and style will be tweaked each time according to feedback from prior quizzes - something for everyone - thank you.

5:30 - 9pm kitchen open
7pm quiz starts
Short interval
9:30pm quiz finishes

The entry fee of £5/entrant will go towards voucher prizes and raising more money for Hinxton's current mission to install some glass doors for the church porch.

There will be a bar snack menu on offer as well as some "Cheap & Cheerful Classics" on Special and our usual menus (but dining is optional :)

We are going to trial a run of monthly Quiz Nights so you can plan your diaries ahead.
These will run on the second Friday of every month.

What a coup! - We are delighted to reveal that we have managed to persuade Nick to return to entertain us again this April. And not only that but he has found an extra saxophonist to join the throng so we now have a full Quintet to raise the roof - this is going to be quite the jazz night out!

We have got to make the most of these opportunities as Nick has clearly got quite a career ahead of him and in time we will sadly not get a look in and be unlikely to be able to afford him anyway!

For those who have missed out so far - the Nick Antoniou Quartet were a local four piece ensemble newly formed, playing a cool mix of jazz standards. Piano, vocals, trumpet, double base and drums, and now saxophone to take them up to the next Quintet level.

We have been lucky enough to have had Nick play for us a number of times now at both pubs and they really are something pretty special (think Jamie Cullum according to the Guardian). All evenings have all been fully booked and increasingly quickly. They have undestandably built up a very loyal following. A real find.

Shane will be offering his new Spring Menu on the night.

We set out our tables for a jazz club atmosphere - so please book a table in advance, stating whether dining or just drinking. Prime tables are allocated to diners, but drinkers are welcome too and will be fitted into the restaurant if room, otherwise the jazz and atmosphere wafts well through to the bar.

Now a Quintet means an even more exlusive evening as tables in the restaurant are quite limited. Please book quick while you can.

There will be a £10/head cover charge for seats in the restaurant to contribute to Nick and his quintet's fee.

To confirm a dining booking a £10 non-refundable deposit will be required which will come off your bill on the night.

Drinking only bookings cannot be guaranteed a seat in the restaurant but will be fitted in where possible.
