Our Story

Ideally situated in Mithian, St Agnes, a village on the North Cornish Coast in the centre of Cornwall, just 3 minutes from the A30. Set in a peaceful valley close to St Agnes, Perranporth and Truro, we are a perfect base for your Cornish holiday. The historic Rose in Vale Country House Hotel dates back to the 17th century, is steeped in history, is a dog-friendly and intimate country house hotel which has been welcoming adults and children of 12 years+ for over 80 years. With an outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub (mid-May to mid-September) we are the perfect escape for a quiet or romantic getaway in our peaceful and tranquil location. We have plenty on our doorstep to occupy you with 10 acres of beautiful gardens to explore, our very own stream, fishpond and duckpond. For the more adventurous many walks start from our grounds in and around the local area and the South West Coastal path. If you want to take the car most of Cornwall’s attractions are within 45 minutes of our hotel, we really are perfectly situated to hop on to the A30 running through the spine of Cornwall.

Our restaurant serves breakfast, coffees, sandwiches, traditional Afternoon and cream Teas, a la carte including classics for those who just want a burger, steak or fish and chips. Our extensive cocktail list is a ‘must try’.

We have lots of space inside the house and in the grounds, where you can find your own private area to relax and enjoy the tranquillity.

We cater for all sorts of celebrations and get-togethers including engagements, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, group trips etc.
