St. If you love to surf, head to Porthmeors blue flag beach with a fantastic cafe overlooking the sea. The harbour beach stretche

s out far when the tide is out and extends to a gorgeous shallow beach perfect for paddling and swimming alike... Porthgwidden is beautiful, Porthminster fabulous, and Carbis bay around the corner.... The little train runs from St. Ives to Carbis Bay daily and takes less than 10 minutes. Ives, with it's cobbled streets, and independent gorgeous shops is buzzing and happy, with numerous wonderful restaurants and bars - The Tate Gallery is a short walk from the harbour.. Take a trip to Seal Island (you may even sea a seal in the harbour!) Go paddle boarding, kayaking or surfing, or take the open top bus to Lands End not too far away. St. Michaels Mount in Penzance is amazing (you can walk across in low tide!) or if you feel like a real treat, catch the helicopter from Penzance just 7 miles away to The Isles of Scilly for the day...
Blue Water is just a 20 minute walk into town and beaches (all downhill and a 10 minute bus ride back!)

Last year Laura and I launched our gorgeous heavy duty canvas and leather Escape to St. Ives Bags, and had a fantastic response. Sadly due to illness we have decided that we will not continue to produce more. We have just 10 left in various colours. We've had a crazy summer and autumn with lots of lovely guests who have loved being at the house and in St. Ives and all that it offers. We now have opened up availability for christmas and the New Year! If you are looking for some rest and relaxation - lazy days by the sea, fresh sea breezes, coastal walks and fabulous food and drink - St. Ives has it all and is magical at Christmas time! Spent a lovely day St. Michael's Mount last week. Walked across the causeway at low tide and loved visiting the castle and hearing about the history. If you are a National Trust member you can visit for free but it’s worth every penny regardless. . Popped into the little shop to buy a few things and then a sandwich and coffee in the gardens… there is a cafe where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views and have a cold glass of something - fabulous day out and only 20 minutes drive from St. Ives. Fantastic views from the mount looking back to the coastline - Will be back again soon…

We have one or two weeks left this summer in August and later in the year...Why not hop in the car and experience some of that glorious Cornish sea air, good food, coastal walks and enjoy all St. Ives and the area has to offer. There is so much to explore and places to go... No need to struggle for parking as Blue Water is just a short walk into town and a bus ride up the hill back for £1.80....

Just a short stroll from the high street, Pedn Olva for the first time a few weeks ago to meet a friend for coffee and gosh, what fabulous views every which way! Amazing roof terrace to soak up those gorgeous views and if it's a blustery day have coffee or lunch in the bar and still enjoy that blue sea... On my list to re-visit very soon...
