Our amazing shoreline in St Ives sparks creativity.

In Shoreline Lumen workshop, students collect natural materials from the beach and use them to create lumen prints. Placing their finds directly onto photographic paper, they explore how light, time and the materials themselves affect the final image.

The results are often unexpected. Colours shift, shapes soften, and no two prints are the same.

It’s a process of experimenting, observing and responding — giving students the freedom to try things out and see what happens.

Exactly the kind of learning that stays with them.

Thanks to for a wonderful Tea Bowl workshop which the whole team did back in November. Here are the results, fresh out of the kiln with a gorgeous green glaze.

This workshop is a great addition to your itinerary, especially as soon all workshops will take place in the brand new educational space up at the Leach Pottery studio & museum.
