Despite enduring a hurricane, Anna, Daniel, Maddie and Will... and not forgetting little Obi - were officially our last guests and loved the chance to stay in the Pod! ... Thanks for all the WONDERFUL and supportive comments everyone, they are heart warming for us and we are both okay and busy packing!!! Thanks again! :)

We get SO MANY wonderful comments from guests, like these from Sally, Amoree & Ashan and Tom & Vicki, I didn't want to keep posting them and 'overkilling' it... But in these last emotional days they mean SO MUCH to us! :) After the 'One Love' comments on the Blackboard, Eileen and I were doing a changeover and coincidentally Bob Marley's 'One Love' came on the radio... we both looked at the blackboard and with tears in our eyes but smiles on our faces, we danced together under the shadow of 'Olive' and the looked out at the views knowing these are the last times we will be there. The pod WILL rise again one day... Better than ever! :)

Well, after 5 years on our incredible adventure, it’s time to say goodbye.
The St Ives Escape Podz is closing down.

An unbelievably emotional time for me and Eileen but we would like to say the biggest thank you to St Ives for having us, to our friends and family who’ve supported us from day 1 and of course the hundreds of guests who stayed with us and who made some amazing ‘forever’ memories in the Pod. We’ve had couples, families, newly weds, hen parties, birthday celebrations, competition winners, people recuperating from operations, journalists, photographers… the list goes on and on, including 35 honeymooners and 5 couples that actually got engaged INSIDE the Pod! ☺

We have hundreds of pages of incredible reviews in our guest book which we will treasure forever, comments like, “The best holiday EVER!’ “This place is out of this world!” and nearly all of them ending in; “Thank you Eileen and Mike for creating the Pod!”

We’ve featured on ITV’s HOLIDAY HOME SWEET HOME with Lisa Faulkner, appeared in VOGUE magazine, WEDDING VENUES, GET LOST, CORNWALL LIFE and SELF BUILD magazines, we’ve also been featured in THE TIMES, THE MAIL, THE MAIL ON SUNDAY, THE CORNISHMAN and loads of other newspapers and COSMOPOLITAN voted us in the top 5 places to stay in Cornwall… We’ve also just been offered an article in the in-flight magazine for the London to Taiwan daily flight to represent the UK in a ‘WORLD’S best glamping’ story! ☺ We’ve had over 800 written requests to stay with us over just over the last 18 months and we’ve been totally booked out for 4 summer seasons as well as VERY healthy winter bookings – suffice it to say, it’s been a HUGE success! But the Planning Dept wouldn’t extend the trial period they’d agreed to give us (though they did say we can put some Shepherd’s huts up instead???) and so we are moving on to… somewhere else in the world? ☺ We’ve looking at an amazing site in the South of France near Biarritz, which we are now discussing but we don’t want to rush into anything and will be taking a little time-out before deciding on our next move – we may even sell the Pod outright or lease it out to someone here in Cornwall along with all that incredible PR, past guests lists and the hundreds of guest enquiries for future stays in it? Let’s see what the universe has in-store for us?
