Caple Gardens

Caple Gardens Stylish self-catering in St. Leonards-on-Sea AN ARTS & CRAFTS HOUSE FOR THE 21ST CENTURY, Caple Gardens is set within a tranquil, private cottage garden in St.

Leonards-on-Sea — the 'Hove' to Hastings' 'Brighton'. Though a world away in attitude, we are just sixty miles from London and our nearest beach is at the bottom of the road, via a stroll through St Leonards' Gardens. ASIDE FROM THE MAGNIFICENT COUNTRYSIDE and seascapes throughout '1066 Country', Caple Gardens is the perfect base from which to explore the so-called ‘Coastal Cultural Trail’. The ne

w Jerwood Gallery is a mile away in Hastings’ Old Town, the modernist masterpiece De la Warr Pavilion is five miles away in Bexhill, while the fabulous Towner Gallery is fifteen miles further away, in Eastbourne. Meanwhile, we're just a fifteen minute walk from the soon-to-be-rebuilt Hastings pier. CAPLE GARDENS HAS A BEACH CHALET*. Situated next door to the St Leonards' Sailing Club and opposite the distinctive listed landmark 1930’s ocean-liner apartment building, Marine Court, we properly love our chalet (*patio* with garden gate, cold running water, electricity, fridge and a kettle, not to mention cracking sunset views of Beachy Head). FACT: Hastings & St.Leonards are blessed with more hours of sunshine per year than anywhere else in the country.

General information

BUILT IN 1883, Caple Gardens is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom 'Arts & Crafts' cottage oozing 'Tudorbethan' character and charm. We may be trad on the outside, however inside we're cool, comfy and complete with all creature comforts — and by offering guests the chance to take away a slice of local style we like to think we're much more than just another 'tongue-and-groovy' seaside retreat. With interiors created by acclaimed artists and designers who just happen to call Hastings & St Leonards ‘home’, if guests like something they’ve seen in the house they can order it direct from its creator or, in many cases, buy it and take it away.
