Here is the ‘Portabella oven’ fully restored and in situ. These ovens were made to dismantle and take with you when you moved home. They provided heat for the room, an oven and hot water plus top rings of various sizes to cook on.

A few photos of our Victorian Portabella fire before it was restored that sits in the Forge Lounge . A new floor laid to replace the original dirt floor , a new roof but none of the walls had been cleaned and repaired at this point. (The fire has moved three times with us but this is the first time we have managed to get find a place for it).

Those boots were made for walking........So many walks right on the doorstep, from picking up The Cleveland Way to Whitby and beyond or a more leisurely walk down to The Fox and Hounds at Dalehouse for a tipple; get out and about and enjoy the scenery and fresh air.
