A little heads up for dog owners, visitors and our four-legged beach inspectors, the summer dog restrictions come back into force from Friday 1st May and run until 30th September.
Here’s the handy Around Tenby guide, so nobody ends up having that awkward “I didn’t know” conversation halfway down the sand with a very excited spaniel and a council sign.
🐶 Tenby North Beach
Dogs are not allowed on the beach from 1st May to 30th September. This is a full seasonal dog ban.
🐶 Tenby Harbour Beach
Dogs are also restricted as part of the North Beach summer ban.
So from 1st May to 30th September, please treat Harbour Beach as a no-dog area unless signage says otherwise.
🐶 Castle Beach
Seasonal restrictions apply from 1st May to 30th September.
Dogs are restricted on Castle Beach during the summer period, so please check the signs at the beach access points.
🐶 South Beach
Partial restrictions apply from 1st May to 30th September.
Dogs are still allowed in some areas, but restrictions apply, including lead-only areas. Please check the beach signs before heading onto the sand.
🐶 Penally Beach
Good news for waggy tails, Penally Beach is dog-friendly all year round. A great option if you’re looking for a proper seaside stroll with the dog during the summer months.
The restrictions are there to help keep the beaches clean, safe and enjoyable during the busiest months of the year. There are signs at the main beach entrances, so it’s always worth having a quick look before you head down.
And, as always, please pick up after your dog, nobody wants to discover that little surprise between the toes. Especially not before an ice cream.
💩 Please pick up after your dog
Wherever dogs are allowed, please remember to pick up after them and use the bins provided. Tenby’s beaches are there for everyone to enjoy, families, children, visitors, locals and responsible dog owners alike.
Nobody wants their beach day spoiled by an unwanted little “souvenir” in the sand. It only takes a few seconds to clean up, and it makes a big difference.
