The Case Of The Missing Trains part 2

Difficulty: Easy but may need walking boots at certain times of the year.

Leaving Newlands Lodges we turned right and walked 150 metres and turned left onto Hood Lane the railway line is accessible via the railway bridge on the right. We turned left then walked north passing the Hayburn Wyke Inn on the way. A good hour and a half’s walk later we arrived at Ravenscar Tearooms in the square and enjoyed a cuppa and Watson had a doggy sausage! We got the bus back at 13.25 and it dropped us right opposite the driveway into Newlands Lodges.

The old railway line was closed in March 1965 there was talk about reopening the line but it remains today a link by foot from Scarborough through Cloughton, Robin Hoods Bay terminating at Whitby.
